Liquid B12 safe or not safe???

I usually  take the kind of B12 that dissolve under neath your tongue but today I was in Walgreens and I saw some little B12 liquid samples. I have been feeling a little sluggish lately so I thought I would try it. Does anybody know if it is safe for RNY or not?

It's safe but you'd still need to hold it under your tongue to absorb it there. You don't have enough intrinsic factor in your pouch to absorb it through the gut. That's why RNYrs do so much better with sublinguals and shots to get their B12.

I think we that have small sleeves are in the same boat but I haven't seen any research on it.

I take the sublingual B12 1000mg, but I also take a liquid B Complex that has 1000mg of B12 in it.

Prior to taking the liquid B Complex my labs showed my B12's in the 800 range, when I started taking the B Complex in addition to it - it skyrocketed to over 1400.

Its safe.  I'd rather take sublinguals or liquid.

How's your iron?  I'm still tired with high B12 labs, but I don't get my iron in like I should.

That is what I meant to get at Walgreens! Iron. I thought about it yesterday. Iron is probably what I need. I am always borderline. You all are the greatest.!

Walgreens carries Biferra iron. It's polysacharide and heme iron. Good stuff for us malabsorbers.

It would help if you included the ranges and if you know what any previous labs were pre-op.

It is safe but unless it is a liquid that you are supposed to put under your tongue, it won't help you much.
