Starting Atkins Today with Dixie Darlin' (My Sister)
My twin sister, Dixie Darlin' is in the process of getting approval for VSG. Her surgeon has put her on Atkins for pre-op weight loss.
I joined her on going very strict low carb...I do have 8 more lbs to go to reach my "goal", so this will get me there sooner, I have been eating a more "balanced" type diet of good carbs, low sugar and enjoying it so much.
But, since I felt so sorry for her...and I know how hard it can be to get off to a good start before surgery....I felt compelled to join her....it will a good thing for both of us!!!
I love her so much and want to see her regain her health and have a much better quality of life.
Please say a prayer for her.

I thought for sure if my sister saw how successful I've been getting to goal that she would at least consider having WLS, but she is even more depressed because I am at goal and she's gained more weight.

Hopefully, your sister will come to see that WLS could really benefit her in time. It really is a very personal decision that she must come to on her on.
Dixie would have never considered the surgery, had I not had it done first. She has now researched it and really knows more than I do about the technicalities.
Prayfully your sister will change her mind and at least consider and research it for herself.
