Life of Intrigue Update from Rosa

Hi Everyone,
So, since you enjoyed my last update, I thought I'd do another one.  :)
My life of intrigue continues.  Mr. Last Thursday (and Saturday) was a ton of fun.  But...there were a few problems.  He showed up 1/2 hour late and didn't apologize.  He smokes (and I hate smoke).  He's very, very, thin (though muscular.)  And...he's 5'11.  I know.  That's not that short.  But for me it is!  I don't know what's wrong with me.  We always said that a man can get a lot taller when he stands on his wallet.  But his had just been stolen, so I had to pay!  (I knew this ahead of time, so that wasn't a big deal.  I'm just saying that his wallet didn't make him taller.)  Plus, he kindof freaked out when he discovered what I do.  He's not into church or religion at all.  This was the worst part, of course.  Anyway, I enjoyed our chemistry, but I'm not sure that in the long run we'd work out.  We'll see...
So I got right back on the site and found another couple of guys.  One I'll see tonight.  He's a management consultant, seems a bit shy, I think he's properly tall, but if not, he is, after all, a management consultant ;) and I don't know much else about him.  I'm not especially excited about this date, but I'm pretty skilled at having a good time anywhere I go, so it should at least be fun.
Then...I have another date set for Saturday.  This guy and I chatted for several hours last night, and I just put it out there!  I was 100% myself - snarky, totally honest about everything (the surgery didn't come up, and in fact, it was a mostly light conversation) but I was just very forthcoming about stuff.  Like the fact that I kindof want a boyfriend for the purposes of having someone to take out the dog when I'm too lazy, or having someone to take care of the garbage.  And when he told me he doesn't really sleep, I told him about a friend of mine who doesn't sleep, either, and who then spends his entire night cleaning the house.  I said, "and that would be the perfect boyfriend, really, one who cleans while I sleep."  Of course that's not true, but he thought it was hilarious.  (And said that his house is really clean.)  So I'm more excited about that date - oh, he's 6'4 and works in marketing at a big firm.  (Maybe that makes him 6'6?)
After all these jaunts, I'm going to take it easy because I'll be leaving for ***** Cana early Monday morning.  I CANNOT WAIT.  I'll try to figure out how to take some pics - my bikinis are looking soooo much better on me this month than last.  In fact, my former favorite one is now a bit too big (though it'll work because it's a halter, and can be tied tightly.) My new favorite one is the white one - it looks AMAZING! :)
So that's the latest for the Rosa Online Dating Digest.
  Stay tuned...

Don't write them off because they are short.  My husband is 2 inches shorter than me.  He's got black and brown belts in 3 styles of karate.  He's a sharp shooter. He's super smart. He's got a good job.  The best part is we are awesome together.  I never thought I'd date a shorter man let alone marry him, but 18+ years later here we are.

I'm just sayin....

Ah, the dating world....  Smoking was a definite deal breaker for me.  I used to always go for taller guys too, but my husband is only 2 inches taller than me, he is muscular though so he makes me feel safe.

Hope you post the pics...have fun on your other dates.

I love  tall guys and i married one  in that range ( 6'2")  though short  for me  lol  ...

but  honestly I also think of them as the divas of the male world ...  they get so many  advantages and  sometimes never have to grow up ...

Your posts have inspired me to do the same!  I need to just date and let some men take care of me for awhile!  My friend told me yesterday that from now on I'm not allowed to get into a relationship with anyone without her interviewing them first since I have a tendancy to pick the biggest douche bags out there.......LOL

I've been on Match.com for over a year now and am finally looking at men I normally wouldn't. I have my ideal of course he's 6'4" 250 very muscular, a cross between LL Cool J and Terrance Howard, has a 6 figure income, he's chivalrous and super funny!  AND.........he doesn't exist.....LOL  I'm going for the men who ARE NOT my type.....in hopes that I will meet someone *****ally is my type.....LOL  So I have a young 26 year old who's been chasing after me for a few weeks whom just finished college with a degree in German studies??? and a 47 year old FRENCH man who is a stone carver....he thinks I'm beautiful......LOL  We'll see how it goes....hoping to have dates worked out by tomorrow!

Have fun on your dates!

RNY on 10/21/08 with
Rosa - sounds like you're having a ton of fun - WOOHOO!!

Now - I've always liked taller guys.  I'm 5'3, and have gravitated towards the 6'2" and over group.  Before this BF the guy I dated was 5'8".  I thought "ok - lets see how this works".. well actually, it worked out great.  He taught me how to dance and it was so easy with someone that was taller than me, but not too tall.  I didn't have to break my neck to look at him while dancing.  (Swing, waltz, etc).

My BF now is 6' and I think its just right... Of course we don't dance, so it works out great!  Even if we did, I think I could make it work - LOL.

My old BF that was long term was 6'5" - and if he stood on HIS wallet he was 7' - but sometimes that's just not enough....  so don't get real hung up on height and wallets....

Have fun in ***** Cana - we'll miss you!

Thanks for the update and let us know how the other dates and your vacation goes!

Girl,

It sounds like you are having FUN! Great to hear that you're finding some folks to "try out." I'm not big into looks or height - I focused on like interests and the big question "would I want him to raise our children?" Even though I'm not a mom, to me, that was a great question to keep in the back of my mind, since that is where most relationships end up.
