These are my confessions

At this point, I feel like the only thing I can do is to be honest with myself, and others in order to get the help I need to make it on this journey.  It's just discouraging being so early out and feeling like I'm working against myself.  I wish you the best.

It's amazing how we can feel like our own worst enemy sometimes!  And that's ok as long as you are your own best advocate as well!!!!  You are doing everything you need to be doing.  You know from having previous WLS that this isn't always easy and we test our limits.  I don't think that anyone goes into this thinking they will actually be able to succeed longterm.  I mean really lets be honest......how many diets have we all tried over the years that didn't work.....I think that belief stays with us after too!  It doesn't matter how many successful post opers we see until we are that successful post oper we don't see it as a possibility.  I think your feelings are very normal especially since you've "tried this before"....I don't know what level of success you experienced before your revision but it was obviously not as successful as you had hoped it would be.....hence the revision....hence the apprehention towards ANY WLS ability to do it's job......It seems this time around you understand that it isn't just the job of the WLS to get you to goal.......it's your job!  The choices you make are going to affect your longterm results.

That said here is what you are doing right:
You are getting your Vits in!
You are recognizing the limits of your pouch....even if you push those limits...LOL
You are holding yourself accountalbe for your choices!
YOU ARE SEEKING SUPPORT!!!!!

I think you've gotten great advice so far on how to tackle this from an eating aspect.....I just wanted to give you some psychological uplifting......LOL
You are on the right path.....if you question if something is the right thing ALWAYS ask......we are here for you!  It does get easier......I promise!!

Hang in there!  I was a HORRIBLE RNY patient the first month.....I didn't get enough water, protein OR vitamins!  I DID do the BEST I could do though and I tried not to beat myself up!

I didn't really have buyer's remorse (I knew that I would definitely lose weight and become healthy) but I did wonder if I would ever feel NORMAL again and enjoy EATING again.

Of course I did!  I turned the corner about 6-8 weeks after surgery.  I also did much better after starting the solid foods (after liquids and purees).  You'll feel better too!  Do continue to measure so you don't damage your new sensitive tummy!

PS....I couldn't do hardly any of the protein shakes but finally figured out I could do one scoop of unflavored UNJURY protein and a packet of Carnation Instant Breakfast mixed together.  Don't give up...there are tons of protein supplements to try!  Vitalady has "samples" that are cheap.

(((HUGS))))!!!!!

I also had a difficult recovery with complications and spent 2 weeks in the hospital. I had problems getting in enough protein, fluids, and vitamins. Everything tasted awful and I couldn't stomach any of the shakes, although, I kept on trying them. I used to put 2 scoops of protein powder, when I made SF pudding. It gave me some protein and fluids. Also, SF popsicles were my friend, and helped to get in some fluids. As each week passes, you will be able to get more fluids and protein, but the first few weeks can be rough. You are not alone. I used to think that I was doing something wrong, but I just had a difficult recovery. It happens, unfortunately. Good Luck!!!
