Another Hair Story

At almost 3 months post op my hair started to fall out. I started to notice my usually curly (short) hair didn't seem to have as much curl in it and was a very dry.  Now, 5 weeks into my hairloss, I went to my hairdresser for a  cut.  My hairdresser confirmed that my hair was definately not very curly anymore and the texture was different.  Any ideas why our hair changes so much and does it return to its original state of curly, straight, etc.?

I have no idea but I want mine to come back blond, thick and curly.  Now thin, dishwater blond, straight and fine.

It's probably not as curly because it is thinner.  I also have curly hair.  Mine came back more curly than ever.  When the new hair was coming in I had to fight the frizzies because of the little short hair coming in.  There is light at the end of the tunnel!  Mine is almost back to normal now although I have to use a strightner on it because of the curl.  Keep up the protein and take biotin.

I would say its normal!  Its as normal as losing your hair after a surgery (in my opinion).  I lost some hair after my surgery....but lost A LOT of curl after my surgery!!!!  I also lost my curl after I had my son, he was an emergency "stat" C-Section!  It did come back (both times).  I think it was about a year Post WLS that my curl started coming back.  It is back and then some now!!  But I'm one of those that straightens my curls (now)!

Good luck and yes, your curls will be back...I'm sure of it!!

There are never any problems, only solutions.  quoted by a dear and special friend!!!

Zinc , iron ( not elemental iron)  , biotin and hair vitamins  ( and SILICA)  really helped my regrowth  .

I think the hair is growing back  thicker than ever and FAST  ..

My hair is also falling out & very dry.  My hair stylist suggested I use coconut oil in my hair once a week for an hour.  It is amazing how much healthier my hair looks.  Not dry at all anymore.   It's a cheap and natural option for dry hair.  Don't know about your area, but the only place I could find coconut oil is at the little Indian market .

I lost half my hair..but I have lots...I could tell...my hairdresser said yes it's falling out...I wore it up ALL the time...only took it down to wa****only washed it once or twice a week...very dry...and then I would get HANDFULLS of hair and get bummed out...but then I 'd put it up again and not think about it....after a few months my hairdresser said she saw re growth....and now I'm sprouting like a CHIA PET.....it will grow back...just wait it out...it stinks but it's part of the deal with this surgery....no gettting around it....take your vitamins and wait for the sprouting to start again....it was the hardest thing about the surgery for me believe it or not......I felt really out of control....but now it's back...have faith...SEAVIEW
