Kathy - no, you haven't stepped over the line at all.  That's what this is all about.  I asked for it, you gave it to me!!

He was telling me today how bad we DID eat this past weekend.  I guess I didn't think it was all that bad because I normally don't let myself indulge in those types of foods, but once he pointed it out, I could see it.  He named specific foods...

I guess if it takes me NOT drinking so he doesn't - that's the way it will be.  He needs to get some weight off and he wants too.  His health is depending on it too.

Jody,

You can do this- I know you can.  It is great the BF will be supportive and help you with this.  It is sad when people drop off the board.  It is good to see them back months later, but usually they have gained some weight.  Not all of them, I know we all get busy with our lives and are much more active than we were before.

I think it is good for us to post our ups and downs so someone struggling won't think it is just them with temptations.  None of us can be perfect all the time.  It does seem to be a little easier for me to get back on my plan.  I know that writing down everything that goes in my mouth really helps me to be accountable.  I've slacked off on that the last couple of weeks because I wanted to know if I could do it without counting everything.  I still post on Menus and Miles.

I know in the past when I felt like I was off plan, I would stop weighing for months and then when I finally did weigh it would be bad news.  I'm glad you are still watching it and still posting.

The protein drinks really help me not to snack.  I don't have to worry about the adult beverages since I can't handle those.  Alcholic tendancies in my family and I never learned how to quit if I start so I have to not touch it at all.

Good luck. Oh and here is a gentle kick!!  {{{kick}}}

Thanks Linda!  I posted my planned drinks today on DailyPlate.  I got the new protein today that Roz loves - the Matrix 5.0 mint cookie.  I plan on drinking it for my lunch.

I know its just about getting back to basics.  And I'm NOT perfect all the time.  I do try to eat well.. but let some of the bad stuff creep in, which I need to get OUT.

I do still weight at least 4 times a week.  I have to.  What I did in the past was ignore the scale and ignore what it said.  I can't do that today or ever.  Its what holds me accountable.

Its funny though, I have had people say "oh you gained only 3 lbs *snicker snicker*"  Yea, but when WE gain 3 or even 5 lbs - its a lot when you look at percentages.  Its also a very slippery slope.. and I point that out.  Wipes snickers off their faces.

I'll do it - I've got the love and support of this great board.  If I didn't feel comfortable putting out there with all these great folks my weaknesses I wouldn't do it.  I'm not afraid to admit my weaknesses and failures - but whats more important is picking myself up and getting back to basics.

Jody, you are one of the many people on this site, that have given me inspiration. I am scared of maintenance, because that is where the biggest challenges lie. I think you are going through those challenges now. Somehow, when a significant other comes into our lives, we tend to get more comfortable and want to enjoy the moment. I think, that is when the weight can come back on. If your bf won't drink, when you don't, then that is a wonderful thing and can help you to stay on the right path. Alcohol turns to sugar and as we all know, is devoid of any nutritional value.

I am rooting for you!!! It takes a lot of courage to post, when you have gained, but it does help with accountabilit. You CAN and WILL do this!!!!

Thanks!  My ultimate goal is to lose 10 lbs.  I know it won't be all this week, but know that when I get started it will be easier to keep it going.

Next week I too will be concentrating on getting 150g of protein a day for healing.  That will keep me on the protein drink path.  Since I'll be on pain meds, no drinking.

Yes, someone new in your life WILL change your normal, day-to-day habits.  I recognize this pattern being the same as in the past, when I gained my weight back - again!.  Even with BF wanting to lose weight too it can be a struggle.  Its those old eating habits sneaking back in.

I will do it - I know I can.  Thanks for your support!

Jody, I'm late for work and have to dash, but I wanted to give you a big hug and then clip you to the low carb wagon.  Come on over to our Atkins group.  I know you've posted there before.  I find it so helpful to post my food on the daily carb accountability thread over there.  Doesn't matter which food plan you're on as there are so many different low carb ones.

I just finished my first week of detox and it feels great to not crave sugar or flour after only a week.  I feel like the carbs from the holidays are out of my system.

Please join us as a dose of your beautiful personality is always appreciated.

You CAN do this!

I know I can - I have the support of you guys - which is great!

I'll be posting.  I'm going back to protein drinks for awhile.  I've started DailyPlate for the week - I love being able to see it in black and white what I'm doing too.

I'll pop over there too!

Hi Shannon!  I was away from OH for two weeks while on vacation.  I missed you too!  I hope you are doing fantastic!  Yup, just call me the inch Sleeve.  Always inching closer to goal instead of leaps and bounds.  :)

The best way to avoid those adult beverages is to get the stuff out of the house. When I have it in the house, I just sample away. I have kept it out for the last week and found I don't miss it at all. Are you have implants with your upcoming surgery. Hopefully they don't weigh too much! LOL
