Can I just say.....
Michelle,
Good luck on your surgery. I'm glad you found this board also. You will have to stay around after your surgery so you can help others that have the type of surgery that you are having!! I can say I've never posted on the Main Forum. I have posted some on the RNY board, but I mostly hang out here because of the support and help.

It's really funny that you say that, Linda.
My sister (who is coming with me, and also had the RNY 3 years ago) said the BIGGEST thing to her is being involved in support groups. Whether that be online or in person or what-have you.
There were 3 littermates of hers from when she had hers and she is the only one that is involved in a support group, and also the only one that has maintained goal.
There are no support groups in my area, but I think OH is almost better because instead of being one a month or what-have you, it's every day, or 10 times a day, or whenever.
Gives you the chance to help newbies (like me :) ) but also I think a reminder of the tool
you have and sometimes to remember how to use it efficiently and to the full capacity.
So at any rate, it was funny because my sister and I were literally just talking about this and she passionately said that she didn't care what form of support I went through, but to no matter what, just be involved in some long-term forums or groups - and how it makes all the difference in the world! :)
