Lee, I'm not doing mega protein drinks. Most days, I will have a High Protein Premier Protein Drink. 30 grams of protein, low carbs and fat. I use it to up my protein intake. I find that dense protein keeps me satisfied for a longer period of time. I seem to be losing just fine, although, it is slowing down. I also eat chobani or Fage 0% yogurt almost everyday and they have a good amount of protein in them. I may try that protein chocolate pudding again. I tried it during my nauseous stage and it didn't sit very well. I think I ate too much. Time to try it again. Mornings seem a good time to have a protein drink, for me anyway. Lately, I have warming up the Premier protein drink in the microwave and it is sooo good on the cold days that we have been having.

My latest addiction is a Tall Skinny Vanilla Latte from Starbucks. Has some carbs and about 10 gr of protein. It is made with NF milk, but you could have it made with Soymilk (for extra). I figure it into my daily totals. My appetite has been increasing since I have been exercising more.

Hi Lee,
You may already be taking biotin, but when I lost a lot of my hair I started taking biotin and after about a month or so I started getting little new hairs and now my hair is almost back to normal.   I really think it helped me a lot.

Thanks Linda.  I've been taking it sporatically but last week took it out of the drawer and started up again.  I am so glad it helped you!

I'm a convert too Ava.  I love my protein decaf in the morning and my Lemon Tea in the afternoon.  These are my treats and it works for me.

I do think everyone has to find their own way and what works with their lifestyle.  Congratulations on finding yours!!

ANGELS!!!  You are ANGELS!!!

I am so grateful to know that I can look all my Bariatric Team in the eye and tell them, "Nope, no sodas, caffeine, or coffee at all anymore."

and then do what I need to do for ME further down the road without guilt or fear of somehow screwing up the surgery.  :D

Thank you Thank you Thank you Thank you!!!

Ok, I'm glad I saw your post cause I guess I'm where you were a year and a half ago....  I've had nausea for about the past six months and was diagnosed with an ulcer.  It's being treated but as a result of the nausea I guess... I really have a hard time eating more than a couple of bites of most foods without feeling nauseous.  I don't actually get sick any more I just can't stomach it (or pouch it I guess lol).  About the only things I can really eat without feeling that way are fresh fruits/veggies or candy.  I really don't like my protein shakes anymore but do drink one occasionally cause I know I'm not getting enough protein in.  I never liked coffee so I haven't tried any protein coffee (cold or hot).  I do like tea but haven't tried any protein teas so I would like an idea of how you do that.  Unsweet iced tea with lemon only added is my favorite.  I do like hot tea as well and drink it plain with nothing in it now.  Please give me some ideas for how you do it.  I've been struggling to get my protein in and to get enough calories in.  They don't want me to lose any more.  Actually, because of all of this, my energy level has been lower and I haven't been working out.  I'd love some suggestions.

Debbie, what about hot cocoa?  I can't stomach the protein coffee or tea either, but the cocoa works great for me on a cold morning.  Let me know and I'll post how I make it.

Hot cocoa would be good.  I was thinking after I posted that I'm actually supposed to limit caffeine right now because I"m being treated for an ulcer.  I'm having an endoscopy on Wednesday to see if it has healed but trying to stay away for now.  Drinking decaf tea.  I do drink hot tea and hot chocolate.  Since i developed the ulcer, I've really gotten away from my routine and not much really appeals to me.  I'd love some ideas for new things to try.
