Living on Protein Shakes

I well remember coming finding the wonderful lightweights board about  a year and a half ago (  cant believe its BEEN that long )   .. and  questioning the  menus and miles .. everyone living on shakes n snacks  so to speak.

Well  a few months later .. here I am  ..... in shake and snack land ...

The food item  I could not live without has become my banana  isopure shake mix.   I start my day off with  a scoop each in several protein teas .. then suck down protein coffee  caffeinated and decaf  regularly throughout the day .

The shakes keep me  full and satisfied and truly  pretty much craving  free .   Which is what feels WEIRD  because i am truly NOT used to not eating for entertainment lol !

Also  I think my pouch has shrunk and  Im not sure how exactly I feel about that  ..in one sense  Im HAPPY  that  Im less prone probably to regain .... on the other hand im afraid i wont be able to eat enough fruit and vegetables for optimum health  .

My mood  and  energy level though is still  uniformly high  .....my hair and nails  are no longer brittle or easily breaking ...  so  the shakes must be giving me SOMETHING i needed  .

In any case Im glad I finally got teachable about drinking them  ...  the protein coffee and tea are truly yummy   and the calories, sugars  and carbs are SO much less  than  using skim milk powder as the creamer  ...  Thanks for the suggestion!

I drink 3-4 shakes a day after much urging from Roz lol. I still eat normal meals too, I think I eat more than anyone on menus and miles. But I work out really hard and am trying to sculpt my body as much as possible and need fuel. Protein coffees are all I think about while working out in the morning!

I think it is all about finding a way that we can live happy and healthy.  If you have found yours, hurray.  I would certainly have a very hard time without my protein shakes (although they are all hot right now).  And you are right, where else do we get that much bang for the buck (calorie, fat, carb wise).

Yea Ava!!  Isn't it great when you find something you LOVE and its good for you?

I love my protein coffee too - its what gets me jump started in the morning... I feel deprived if I don't get it in the morning, and guilty I didn't get my protein in!

Ava,
I do like the protein coffee's too.  I use Isopure chocolate and Syntrax vanilla bean in my coffee.  Please tell me how you make your tea.  What kind of protein do you put in what kind of tea?  I have the syntrax lemeon tea, but I'm not crazy about it.  It looks like I'm going to have to increase my protein drinks to get the rest of my weight off.

I use the isopure banana  flavor  ....  I just love it -   I mix up a scoop with about  2/3  of a cup of water and pour hot  concentrated chai tea over the top .

The chai tea bags from Starbukz are the best  ..I just keep  like  a dozen of them in a pot for DAYS , add more water  , a teabag or two occasionally  ...  its kind of like chai tea motor oil  ..but it  DOES the job ;)  economically and TASTES great  .

Thanks Ava, It just so happens that my daughter gave me a sample of some teavana Chai tea to try last week and I really liked it .  I'm going to give it a try with my vanilla protein and see how I like that.  I'll try the Starbukz when I can find it.   I love the isopure chocolate and I've been wanting to try the bananna isopure anyway, so I think I'll get some.    Someone told me that they mix the isopure chocolate and banana together.

Oy Vey, I may be the only one not doing mega protein drinks.  That said, I try to get in one scoop of protein powder daily, just to up my protein numbers.  I'm thinking of doing more to help my hair regrowth.  I still love my Bodytech Dutch Chocolate Protein Pudding and have gone back to having that for breakfast this week after no added protein for the weeks I was away.  I'm trying to keep my carbs very low so I look for protein that meets that requirement.

I can't stomach protein tea or coffeee but I do enjoy a cup of hot protein chocolate.  Ummm, that's sounding pretty good this morning!  :)

Bravo Ava on finding what works for you!  I'm so happy to hear you sounding pleased with your intake.   How's the skating going?
