25 POUNDS LEFT TO LOSE & IT'S HARRRDDDD!!
April 13, 2011 will be 2 years out of my RNY. I am down 100 pounds & it came off like nothing. This last 25 is killing me, due to the fact that since I'm so far out, it's SOOOO much easier for me to eat and tolerate food almost normally again. I hear myself saying the old, "I'll get back on track tomorrow". NOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is not supposed to happen after a gastric bypass!! IS IT??
I know it's a lifestyle change. I'm a healthy eater, I just never feel full! Sould I seek therapy??

YES !! ( in my considered opinion - or a food addicts FREE support group like OA or TOPS )
I frankly don't know how anyone keeps the weight of long term without solving the food addiction / emotional eating / eating for entertainment issue .
I too have had real problems accepting the limitations of my pouch and getting to goal , mainly because of my insistence that I be allowed to eat/ taste certain high caloric low nutrition items else feel DEPRIVED .
Its called DEFIANCE and addicts are known for that quality !
I know i myslef would never have a CHANCE Of reaching goal without OA .

I can eat way more than in the beginning, and I like to eat...heck, we all do or we wouldn't have needed the surgery in the first place. I started eating tons of fresh veggies. It takes up a lot of room, and I can eat a lot for the calories. I don't know if this is healthy thinking or not. I plan all of my menus/totals in advance and if I am super hungry, I trade something higher calorie for many servings of raw veggies. They have vitamins, fiber, water, and fill me up!
Congrats on 100 lbs. That is a wonderful accomplishment.
I'm no where near where you are but I would think get back to basics. Maybe a 5 day pouch test? Decarb? Weigh and measure? Journal what you are eating? None of that is what you probably wanted to hear but that was what made it come off in the beginning, the pouch is still there.
I think I was a healthy eater before surgery, too. I just ate for someone 6'6" instead of 4'11".

Do you do protein drinks? I do atleast 3 a day. They help me not eat junk in between meals, but I still feel satisfied.
Do you record what you eat? I always find that helpful to get back on track. I am usually surprised when I think I'm not doing too bad, it adds up to more than I thought I was getting. Try posting on Menu's and Miles everyday for accountability and suggestions from Roz.
Good luck, you can do this. I agree therapy could help if you feel like you need it.
