November or December Surgery Results to Date!

I am considered a lightweight (though I never felt that way!) and had the Sleeve on November 30.  Just wanting to check in and see how others who had any of the surgeries are doing and if they feel like what they did was beneficial or if there are any regrets!

My Starting Weight on 11/30/10 was 209 and today I am 189.  My skin is a little lose and I am trying to work out a little more just to "tighten" my body up, but not so sure that is going to work!  I feel better, sleep better and actually want to leave the house now, which is a huge plus for my husband!  Just bought me a pair of jeggings (size 14) and long sweater to go to dinner with his family tomorrow night, so I am looking forward to showing off a little!  I still have issues if I over eat with throwing up, but it doesn't happen very often.  Mike and peanut butter seem to do it to me - kind of strange!

Let me know how you are doing!!  Love to see how others around my surgery date are fairing!

We're about the same. I started a week ahead of you at 210 surgery weight and am now at 183.5. I have discovered some people notice and some don't. It's interesting to me. My skin is loose anyway, so I don't notice a difference.

I had some issues with nausea, but that seems to have ended about a week ago. I probably lost some extra, because I was so sick that for a few days, that the nurse said just to get and keep down fluids, not worry about supplements and protein.

I have no regrets!!!

Sorry Sharon, but for some reason, when I type of this forum, I get typos when it posts, that don't show up in my original message!  "mike" is actually supposed to be "milk".

I had a band on 12/20 and I've lost about 22 pounds.  I've still been on mushies.  I have a follow up appointment this week, and will hopefully start intergrating real foods soon. Fortunately, I've been ok with the foods that I've eaten/ways I've eaten them, but I am still nervous about having lunch at work/away from home.  I've been feeling pretty good, better each day, except that on Wednesday I had a strange day where it felt like I was 4 days out of surgery, not almost 4 weeks.

Enjoy your jeggings this weekend!

RNY on 11/29/10 with
I had RNY on 11/29 and am down 35 pounds, from 225 to 189.4. I am off 5 meds, including my diabetes meds.

It has not always been easy, but it was definitely worth it. I still have trouble keeping down dense foods. I struggle sometimes with eating slowly - it is hard to break a lifetime habit.

I am back at work. It feels good but I lose steam in the afternoon. My colleagues are very supportive, and I am grateful. I start to travel again next month - that should be interesting!

Like Wendy, I have no regrets!

Wow everyone is doing so great!!  Thanks for the input.  I have thought that I was moving rather slowly - especially compared to the rest of you, but I know it will all come in time.  I definitely don't follow "instructions" to the T, but I do my best.  I absolutely hate all the vitamins that you have to eat - especially since the surgery they taste terrible to me!

Good luck to all of you and let post again in a month!!  :)

Wow your doctor was very strict!  I started mushie food after 1 week and solids at 3 to 4 depending on how I was feeling.  You are doing fantastic and good luck with the solids.  I have a few troubles in the beginning, but it is totally a breeze now that I have figured out when to "stop" eating!

Hi Ladies! You are doing great!

I had my RNY on 11/29. Was 217 on day of surgery and am 194 today...I am thrilled with the results and the lifestyle has been very easy for me to adapt to. I had lost almost 50 lbs pre-op so I had mourned food and was pretty much over it by surgery.

I did have one dumping incident and 2 stuck episodes but I learned from them and it was only a tiny bump in the road.

The only thing I miss is chicken feta pizza and I know I will be able to have a piece of it one day. Right now I am VERY happy with what I can eat...food tastes so much better to me now that I actually take the time to enjoy it! I chewed up a piece of macaroni just to see what it tasted like and it was like cardboard!

This is the best thing I have ever done for myself and I feel fabulous!!

Congrats to everyone and I am happy for each and everone of you in each stage of your journey.
