Miracle healing bodies

I was getting out of the shower this morning and noticed my incisions. After seven weeks, they are fading already. Then I took my blood sugar and it was 84 (YEAH!!!, the reason I wanted surgery). I appreciate how wonderful my body is to heal, if I give it a chance.

My surgery has brought me to appreciate again how forgiving our bodies can be. I am eating small amounts of healthy food, no sugar, extra protein, taking vitamins consciously. Yes, I guess I could have done this without surgery, but that never happened. Now I am helped by my sleeve and support groups.

I am 64 and never thought I would feel like my life was getting better. I figured my aches and pains would increase and I would withdraw more and more from life.

NO WAY!!! I want to thank all of you on this board and myself (for the courage to get help). This is starting to be fun (now that the nausea seems gone).

Sounds like you've turned a major corner. I'm glad things are getting so much better for you.

Thanks, Gina. You are a rock for me. Solid info and kind words.

I finally figured out the ticker, but still having trouble with the smiley faces. One step at a time, I guess.

Im so HAPPY for U Wendy !! Brava Young Lady !!!

U know I really think our society's ideas of chronological age are SO off ( and in OUR favor ! thank God ! ) so its anything goes for our generation....

I really DO understand though that horrible inexorable narrowing of the horizons and he limiting of Ur dreams that ill health brings - I had diabetes and chronic debilitating severe asthma before my WLS too .

Im just so glad to be released from the prison of fat and ill health ! And i never want to look back when im 85 ( or 125 ! ) and say .. i shoudl have done that when I was 40 .. and THAT when i was 60 and i didnt because somebody told me it wasnt an age appropriate dream .. so I GAVE UP ?!!!

sorry , thats not for me....

Oh, Ava! Thanks so much. Your creativity and passion come through in your posts. Keep them coming.

You seem so young to understand the pain of closing down your options, but I can tell you've been there and done that.

I can also tell that that is not happening now!!!! You seem full of life and open to all possibilities. Please keep sharing with us. It always brightens my day.

Good to hear that you are doing better. I had a rocky beginning and started turning the corner at weeks 7-8. I think the sleeve was healing, the swelling was going down, and my intake of fluids and protein increased. The body is a miraculous thing.

Thanks. You encouraged me about getting over the nausea. This morning I realized I was drinking water and it didn't feel like a knife in my tender little sleeve. Baby steps.

I'm so glad things are better for you.  Congratulations on your achievements so far.

I know how you feel about the blood sugar - that is the one thing I wanted GONE and it was the day of surgery!!

Wishing you continued success.
