Thanks, I did take an extra colace last night and it got things moving eventually.  Will make that daily thing to try.

I used to take 2 fiber pills a day, then I added lots of fresh veggies into my diet. I don't have problems anymore, and actually started losing weight again really fast. I didn't eat fruits and veggies for a long time because of the carbs, but now I allow healthy carbs, and it has definitely changed things.

Great point, Shannon.  I was eating a ton of fresh fruit from the farm stands over the summer and had no problems.  Since then, big problems.  Looking forward to fresh fruit, meanwhile I do fill up on my protein and do not eat many veggies.  I am thinking prunes though...maybe the individually wrapped ones so I can do one here and there.

I take absolutely no laxatives but do eat a lot of fiber in veggies and fruit form and in whole grains ( i eat brown rice and whole grain breads too occasionally ) .

One trick I DO use is a dried fig a day ... I find it really helps if needed . Old Mediterranean remedy ... that and a LOT of water lol .

I have never had constipation issue post op .

now gas -- I NEED a probiotic a day in order not to occasionally clear a room in the most socially unacceptable manner lol ....

honestly its not THAT bad but the probiaotic solves that problem 100 % . When i eat broccoli eggs or beans i also take gas x just as a preventative measure ....

for me the " smell " post op was a BIG concern .. well im happy to report that regular probiotics solve that problem ....

I eat 2 prunes 3 times a day and it keeps me regular since surgery 7 months ago.

I take one colace at night and two in the afternoon.  I added a pill- 400 mg of magnesium (got it at CVS and it's called MagOx) to my afternoon regimen. Also take one Citrucel at night and one in the morning.  Knock wood-it seems to be working 99% of the time.  Now the issue is more, when I'm ready to go, it's immediate.

Benifiber in my protien shake, lots of water, fruit every day, ground flax seed in whatever I can put it in, yogurt with live cultures every day. If I do that, I don't have a problem. I never take laxitives. I also have no carbonation. Some people can handle it, but I am not one of those people.
