I was looking forward to a little snow, not ice mind you. You guys that are having a real winter for the first time in ages, please check-in and let us know how you're fairing. You got enough in your fridge and cabinets to get you through until you can get out and about?

My poor DD went back to Charlotte, NC to start college and the first 2 days have been cancelled due to snow. She grew up in the great white north where she probably had 2 snow days in all of 10 years! She's getting cabin fever sitting around in a few inches of snow. On Saturday after she flew south I shoveled more than 4" of the drive! Lucky her, it'll be gone in a couple days! Mine will be here a few more months.

I'm still recovering from the mother of all colds, getting out in the snow is not gonna happen unless it's to go to the car, lol.
Speaking of which, I was suppose to have my preop yesterday morning but it got cancelled and rescheduled to Wed AM.
We had about 3-4 inches yesterday, haven't checked yet for this morning.

We have about 4 inches of snow from the last snowfall. Calling for 4-6 more today/tonight. Im getting ready to go do some errands - taking daughter to her first pre natal appt, stopping at hosp to see my great niece who was born yesterday, stopping at grocery store, ect Im hoping the snow holds off til I get back home. I HATE driving in snow! Keep warm everyone. Cindy

Well here in Western NC we are at a standstill. Started snowing on Saturday and cleared up but the last two days have shut us down. I have about 6-8 inches at my house and for the first time ever the VA offices where I work have been closed. Hopefully the roads will get cleared some today and we can start digging out. We are just not geared for snow like some cities, So I;ll have another cup of coffee and wait on the snow thats coming tonight...............Brenda
Last time I checked we had about 7 inches. In all the years (since 75) we have been in this area, we have had very few years with as much snow as we had last year and now this year. We have a generator so if we lose power we are ok. The roads haven't been cleared but I have someone coming with a tractor to do the drive today so we will be able to get out. Since I work from home, I can always find something to do. By the time I take care of the horses, I don't feel much like playing in it. But my best Christmas present was a sled to use to move hay out to the in the snow, and muck out of the barn. So yes, I am sleding 2x a day. By next year, I may have sleigh runners for one of the carriages, then we can have some fun.

we received 29 inches right after xmas and i made my snowman and snow angels then lolol the snow is suppose to hit today between 9 pm and 12 am they r predicting 10 inches + we shall seeee.....
i am planning on going to the movies to see " country strong" with my bff and my DD so hopefully it will start earlier.

Well this time on the coast of Va, we have been missed. Not that I am sad or anything, the last one dumped more than a foot on us and we were shut in for a week. We have recieved some mix and a little ice, should be cleared by noon and then nothing but rain. Kids did get a 2 hour delay, which means no gym for me today but we will see what I can do around the house today. DS#1 has dr appt this afternoon, hopefully they will schedule his surgery and get it out of the way.

No snow here in N. California. But, it was snowing in Charlottesville, VA when I arrived on Christmas night, so I did get to play in the snow over vacation. I was freezing all the time!
Zach is up in the Adirondacks shooting a film for 8 days. They start at sundown and shoot for 10 hours each night, longer if necessary. We spent Friday night at North Face and REI getting him more supplies to stay warm. I'm worried about him as he left here with Bronchitis, possibly pneumonia. I'm saying little prayers that he's not buried in the snow, but he probably will be. I'd love updates on Upper New York.
