Feeling Fat and going bald!!
I remember just how you are feeling. You are probably in a stall. Just keep on keepin on. It might sound crazy but eat something out of the ordinary. It seems like when I was in a stall if I jazzed it up a bit and ate something different my body would jump back on track. The hair thing will level itself out. Mine has come back with indeed. I have always taken zinc, biotin, and vitamin E for my hair. This last time my hair dresser actually had to thin some areas out. A year ago I couldn't have imagined that. I can remember thinking I was going to be BALD. It will bouce back. Stress does something to us too. Try to take some me time! Exercise is my ME time. I tell my family to back off if they see me on that treadmill. If I am singing to the top of my lungs and they don't like it go outside. Hormones are nasty little things too. This could be your irritability. Have you had your blood levels checked recently. When I am at my ugliest usually my vitamin D has been low. Trust me it can get pretty UGLY. Take a walk in the sunshine. Soak up some vitamin D and fresh air. Relieves stress and gives your body what it needs. I pray things get better for you. That scale will move I promise. Don't forget to hydrate, hydrate.
Thanks for the response....My surgeon's office doesnt do lab wor****il month 6, so I have to wait until March for that...I talked to my pcp and she said she would supplement my surgeons labs with anything that she thinks he missed and/or that she wants results to...so for now, Its a waiting game...I just feel really "off"
You won't be bald and skinny!!! I hate that you are feeling this way, but so am I...misery loves company!
I can commiserate. When I just took a shower, a chunk of hair was left in my hands after shampooing. I have been okay with the constant shedding the past few weeks, but the chunk REALLY got to me. I have baby fine thin hair already, so I am not sure what I will be left with. My poor babies at work end up with hair all over them from the shedding, even with my hair pulled bck. It really grosses me out. I guess I can always have the red hair I wanted if it comes to needing a wig:)
My scale is just not moving as fast as I wanted it to. I just keep telling myself, its still moving and I will be happy when its all over that it came off slowly, more time for my skin to adjust.
Hope you are feeling better soon.

Hi Christine! I'd say you are right on target with the hair loss. And you are probably just in a stall! I had a tougher time with the stalls!! I only had a few, I was pretty steady having 1-2lbs a week up until I hit goal & lowest weight! If I didn't lose anything one week, I would lose something the following week for sure! I hit goal (and lowest weight) at 7 months! At 7 months I held steady fluctuating a few lbs here and there. It was hard seeing the scale go back UP!! I eventually stepped off the scale!
I had thick curly hair pre op. I lost some hair (but I was expecting it), I'd say no more than the average person. Sometimes it would come out in clumps! I always had to run my hands through my hair after I was done towel drying and brushing my hair. Then I could blow dry it!! It eventually stopped. But it was about a year post op that my hair was back to normal! I lost most of my curl (only had some waves, not very flattering when you're used to curls!)!!! Again, I was expecting it, same thing happened when I had my son (stat C-Section). Lost some hair and all the curl. But it is all back now, plus I think I may have more curl than I had before!!
Soon enough you will be a thinner version of your former self!!!! Good luck! Remember this is just one of the loops in the roller coaster of WLS!!
