Ok heres the deal .   I always thought my pouch was BIG .  I mean I asked for relatively  capacious  so  I could eat the salads and veggies I love .

I was  fine with that  and eating normal  size platefuls of food since I  prefer  less dense fresh  foods anyway .

recently though  I can eat less and less .

Like  .. two  medium sized meat stuffed mushroom caps fill me up to bursting .

or half a  small portion of fat free lasagna .  Or  HALF  of a small  bowl of cherries  .. when i  used to eat a heaping giant bowl ...

And I stay full FOREVER .

OK IM NOT complaining !!   its  just weird because I used to get so hungry ...I thought ...  or could it have been psychological or just Habitual snacking  or overeating  ?!!  Wow !!

What are Ur experiences with  pouch size  a few years out vs  a few months out  ?   Thanks !

Ava, I glanced up at your profile info to see when your WLS was and what type you had and it says "other".  It didn't always say "other".  Didn't you have RNY and when was it?

I'm not far out enough to be able to advise you, but I sure wish my pouch was smaller. Mine always fills quickly when I haven't had enough to drink, but you always seem to keep hydrated from what I recall from your posts.  hmmm .... don't know, kiddo.  Seems ironic because several months ago you would have been jumping for joy, right?  Maybe one of our vets will know what's up.

I can tell by your posts that you are a lot more content now and that has probably changed your eating habit.  I'm guessing your pouch has shrunk some and has gotten a little more restriction.

I am over 2 years out and I still have a lot of restriction.   I think eating small meals/snacks and then drinking my Protein has kept my pouch relativiely small.   I can still only eat  2-3 oz. of meat and  2 Tbs. of something else per meal, but I can eat more than I used to be able to when it comes to sliders like soup.  I usually always stick to a half can or a cup of soup but I could eat more if I wanted to.   My eating habits are mostly habitual  rather than from hunger.  I make a menu of what I'm going to eat and I feel committed to it.   I seldom feel hunger unless I haven't followed my plan for the day or skipped a Protein Drink.  I  get most of my hunger feelings when I am thirsty rather than needing to eat.

I stil get the hiccups when I take just 1 bite to many.  I used to think that was such a pain but now I consider it a blessing because I know my tool is still working.

I notice a difference in restriction from day to day or week to week. From what I have read and been told, the sleeve does not stretch out, but for the 1st 6-8 months it is still swollen. after 6 months, I definitely noticed a difference in the amount I could eat. I could have kept my portions super small, but I like to eat until I am full, not overly stuffed however.

I have found that some food fill me up much faster than others and so restrict how much I eat. It also varies day to day. Keep an eye on it and if you find it a problem you may have a stricture which is easy to strech back out. if it is not a problem don't worry about it.

Hi Trible,  I don't think we've met.  I just wanted to say that your surgeon took out my gallbladder in November 2009 in Oakland.  Small world eh?  I just remember because his name is so similar to the Seinfeld character.  :)
