Fitness Fun - January 7
The session went well, but I am feeling a bit sore today. This is about the 3rd week of working with her, twice/week, and she is increasing the weights and the difficulty of the exercises. I like working with a trainer, because she varies the routine and pushes me more, than I would push myself. It helps to get me to the gym. The pilates class on Wednesday is also helpful. I need to increase the cardio, but I feel tired today.
All I can really say is ugh.....I'm reporting this here (on the Fitness Fun post) because this is where I'm comfortable.
Crap-ass week. Only ran once. Earlier in week, debit card was compromised and $200 in charge**** my bank that I didn't initiate. That sucked. Now I have DH in hospital in a serious addiction situation. Years of pain pill management gone bad...and has thrown alcohol in the mix over the last month. He's being detoxed for several days, then likely residential treatment. He had RNY in April 2010, so the alcohol thing came on super quick once he got going on it. Anyway, things pretty much suck right now, so that's why I haven't been on much.
I will run tomorrow though! I am committed to not letting life's crapiness mess up everything. Running is the one thing that I have of my own that I can be proud of. I have a half marathon next weekend. I really want to be able to do it and not be dealing with more crap.
Anyway, whine whine. No fitness for me today though.

I am so sorry to hear that things aren't going well for you. Transfer addiction is a bear and quite common in the WLS community. At my 3 month group meeting, the Bariatric Internist spoke about it, and said that 2 young women in the program had recently died, because they started smoking again and develped bleeding ulcers that couldn't be successfully treated. They were RNY patients. It was very sobering (no pun intended).
Running is a healthy way to manage your stress. (((HUGS))).

Oh, Carlea. I'm so sorry that you and DH are having to deal with this. I remember what you talked about with your own history, which adds a whole other dimension to it.
It seems that, to the extent that you can, running/exercise is the very best thing you can do with and for yourself as you cope with all this.
Praying for you, honey. I hope the detox and treatment will be successful.
