Happy Friday!!!   Well I almost made it the week without sugar and then our receptionist (79 yrs. young) who has been very sick  came in to tell us she is allowed to come back to work part-time and she brought in muffins. I only took a 1/4 of one because I didn't want to offend her, but even a 1/4 is making me shaky and my head is pounding.  There must be a ton of sugar in them!!

Hello to all of my Lightweights!!!  If you are visiting WELCOME....PLEASE JOIN US and POST!!!!!

Writing everything down has helped me so much!!! I would really like to see some more posters.  Seeing what is working for others helps the rest of us put some variety into our meals.

Yesterday was not a good day...I was so hungry all day.  At this point not sure if it is head hunger or not.  I grazed all day. I was tired all day, so not sure if that was why I thought I was hungry?  A tsp of ricotta here, oatmeal, more ricotta.  Today I need to stick to meal times. I don't want to fail at this.

B-Protein Shake (30 g)
S-Iced tea (no sugar)
L-Tuna (15 g)
S-Protein Shake (30 g)
D- Ricotta/bean bake (15 g)
S- Iced tea

15 Min incline treadmill - more snow shoveling (will it ever end, we have about 3 ft of snow, all this week)

Have a great day everyone.

You really shouldn't be feeling much hunger.  When I was early out my Surgeon put me back on my Prilosec and I couldn't believe it when the hunger feelings went away.  Even now at 2 years out my tummy lets me know if I skip my meds for a couple days in a row.     Hunger could also mean you need more liquids.

Good Menu!!

Roz, "things" happen. For a slip, this was small stuff. I hope you feel better soon. I hear that eating protein can help.

I had trouble with my protein shake this morning. It was an uncomfortable commute, to say the least! I had added a few fresh blueberries. Not sure if that was the problem since I have had trouble with the shakes before. The feeling passed in time so all of the good nutrition is in me!

Great news - I was just released by my ortho doc to do the elliptical every other day and start working with weights. Now I need to find out why my elliptical is not working.

My food for today:
B- protein shake w blueberries (40 g)
S- SF greek yogurt (11)
L- shrimp w ****tail sauce (12)
S- string cheese (6)
D- turkey w mustard sauce (10)
S- SF pudding w protein powder (10)

TGIF! Have a great day, everyone.
Amy

Good Menu!  I'm glad to see that at least part of your Protein is coming from shakes.

I was hungry all day yesterday too. The carb drop is starting to get to me though, so I think I am mistaking the low energy for hunger. If anyone has feedback about when this breaks, I'd be happy to hear from you. I'm fearful that I have to add in carbs because of working out- when I tried to lift last night, my muscles were a firey mess. My performance was awful. I'm going to give it a little longer though. I hear your body somehow learns to compensate. It's never happened for me!

B- shirataki, egg whites, chicken, salsa
S- atkins bar
L-same as breakfast
S- green beans and light string cheese
D- cottage cheese, grilled chicken, broccoli
S- Protein pudding
S- 1/2 fage

Calories- 978/ Carbs- 39/protein 117g
Exercise- practicing some routines for classes. Probably equivelant to about 45 minutes on the eliptical.

Don't you find that when you work out, you need more carbs?? You work out ALOT, with all the classes that you teach. Are your carbs always around 39? My trainer just about keeled over, when I told her that I was eating about 700-800 cal/day. Since I have been working out, my hunger has been increasing.

Nooo!!! My carbs are not usually this low. That's why I'm having a problem right now. Controling carbs is the only way I have control over food- I'm an addict. Plus, it appears to be the most effective way for us all to lose weight. I really want to be on that wagon, but my muscles don't have any fuel to pull from during strenous activity. The low carb school says that after a few weeks our bodies learn to burn fat for fuel during activity instead of carbs, and I don't want to mess up my progress if that will happen, but I'm certainly not there!!!

I hope you are feeling better today (Sat.) Kat.  You know I can't help you since I don't exercise at all but hopefully someone else had a few words of wisdom for you.

Good Menu!
