I seem to have quite a few "stalls".   My first stall was from week 4-8.....yep, I had a 4 to 5 week stall right off the bat.  It was incredibly frustrating since I was eating practically NOTHING and sticking to the rules.  IT passed though and the scale DOES get moving again!

I'm kinda in a pattern where I DON'T lose ANY weight for three weeks out of the month and then the 4th week of the month I'll drop 5-10 pounds....it's weird but consistent!

I've learned to stay off the scale as much as possible.  It's hard but it helps me maintain my sanity!

It sounds like you are doing GREAT!!

I need to just allow my body to do it's thing... Once I stop worrying about it, it will prob drop some pounds to prove a point. LOL

thanks for the info!! :)

I seem to lose a pound every few days for a while, then stay the same weight or bounce around for about a week, then start losing again.  I don't think I have ever really  had a stall.  Just some times my body was playing catch up.

Almost everyone I have ever talked to had a stall around 3-4 weeks out from surgery. I lost consistantly when I looked at monthly totals, but weekly I was all over the place. Also, I did not lose an ounce (or even gained a pound) every single month for 8 days around my period. Keep track of pounds and inches and take front and side pics monthly. You will see loss even when the scale isn't moving. Some people lose a bunch of pounds and no inches, then stall on the scale and shrink like crazy. We all lose differently and after a few months, you will see your pattern!

On a side note...You are my hero for going through the surgery and early days while going to nursing school. I'm currently taking my gen-eds and have applied to nursing school. I won't find out until the end of March, hoping to start this Fall. I was a stay at home mom when I had surgery, and it helped a lot to be able to focus on my eating and drinking. I can't imagine trying to do it now while in school.

I'm tracking my WL in an excel graph, so in another month I'll be able to see a better pattern of how my body loses. I know years ago in WW I would lose for 2 wks, then nothing for the third... consistently. I guess overall when I look at losing 20lbs in a month is a HUGE success and although I know it would never happen w/o the surgery, it's hard not to be antsy! :)

Congrats on doing your pre-req's! Good luck and hopefully you will get to start in the fall. It's been a struggle on having full days in the hospital and trying to get my liquids in. My thirst center seems faulty and I find out at 5pm that I've only had 20oz of water and then i play catch up all night.. not good. :(

The liquids get easier the further out you are too. As your stomach heals and the swelling goes down, you can drink a lot faster. I can pretty much drink like any normal person. I get up at 4am or earlier to work out and usually have 64oz of water down before I drink my coffee in the morning.

That is SO good to know! I discovered my stomach is not awake before noon, so I am having a hard time choking anything down in the morning. I just bought some decaf coffee to help it 'loosen up' in the am, since I used to have my morning cup pre surgery and never had a problem eating/drinking after finishing that...so i'm hoping the warm liquid will help it some.

YES! I forgot to tell you that part. Warm liquids totally help "relax" your stomach. I used to do all decaf, but now I do a couple of cups of decaf and a couple regular. I mix protein powder with my coffee post-workout. (Let the coffee cool, then mix well with protein powder, then I re-heat a little in the microwave). I have always disliked tea, but have found some Lipton's decaf green tea in several flavors that I enjoy. I like the lemon and honey flavor with 1 packet of Splenda. Also, I learned very early out that I tolerate room temperature water much better than cold water. I will sip on ice water at restaurants or on a hot day last summer, but for the most part it is all room temp.
