Missed Everyone...Update

I feel like I haven't been on here in forever! I have seriously missed you guys and the support. I feel like I have to work harder without my support. DH was off work for 10 days and we were BUSY. I have barely been home. He went back to work yesterday, but I spent half my day in the dentist's office.

I did well through Christmas...I learned just how sensitive I am to sodium/water retention. I was up 9 pounds from two days of not enough fluids, and sodium packed appetizer foods and ham, etc. It wasn't real weight becuase it was gone after 2 days of normal eating and drinking plenty of water and decaf green tea. (Still sittin' at 96 today)

I have totally re-vamped my exercise routine, and can see a difference already. I've cut some of the cardio and upped the strength training. I'm soooo sore, but feel amazing.

Right now I am doing a mini-mester (math, YUCK). And I'm back to full time classes on the 18th. Hopefully I won't be gone for any stretches of time again any time soon.

I'm helping DH get rid of the pounds he has gained since goal, planning both of our menus is a pain, but I think him trying to lose has helped keep me on track. I can't have a snack in front of him that he can't eat, etc.

Wow - that's amazing with the water retention (and great for folks to hear your perspective, because that stuff counts!)

So glad to have you back.  I've been away, too, and it matters.  The support (and accountability) on here are really important to me.  Though I have noticed that I read a lot less of the NY Times/news in general.  I need to find a better balance!  :)

I've missed you!!  I hope you are back to stay!!!!!   If I got on the scales and it was up 9 pounds I think I'd completely fall apart...LOL  I'm up 2 lbs. this morning and I was totally freaked!!  Hopefully mine will be gone tomorrow but I doubt it.

Hi Shannon - good to see you back!

I'm up those pesky 5 lbs again - and its NO****er!  I need to get back on track, motivated and start exercising again.

Tell me what your hubby is doing to lose weight.  BF wants me to help, we're both trying to do the low-carb thing (which helps when you're both doing the same thing), but while he thinks he's doing good - I'm calling him out on stuff... like not eating low fat refried beans, drinking whole milk, etc.  I can't police his food since we don't live together... just looking for some ideas.

Regain 30 lbs from 2012 to 2016 - got back on track and lost it.  Took 8 months.

I've been planning his menus, right around 1500 calories a day. He has cut starchy carbs, but I have him eating balanced like I do now. (we do whole grains, fruits, and veggies). I got him drinking a protein shake for breakfast, and that cut a lot of calories from his usual oatmeal. I'm trying to get him to work out with me again (he did in the beginning, but quit on me lol).

Welcome back!!! 9 lbs of water weight is HUGE on a little person such as yourself. That is amazing for a short period of time. Changing your routine is good. I have been working with a personal trainer twice/week for the past two weeks (this is the 3rd week), and she changes the routine each time. I think I feel stronger already. I need to increase my cardio.

Good to see you back Shannon.

DH gained while I was loosing and now he is back to walking during the day.  We both need to do strength training and are in the process of deciding where we want to do this.  I have no strength in my arms and know that I need to do the weights to build this back up.

It's so odd, I work out a lot and look ripped, but I used to be a lot stronger. I can't even move my couch alone anymore because there is no weight to throw into it. I'll build myself up one way or another.
