You guys, I fell asleep today while I was in the recliner, and I had one of those half-asleep half-awake dreams, and I dreamt I was eating real food!! In my dream, I had had surgery, so I was eating really carefully, but I was eating french fries, pieces of burger, potato chips and heavily buttered texas toast! It was so bizarre and so real. I could taste everything, and I wasn't sure it was a dream when I woke up!! AUGH, I can't wait to have real food!!

Has anyone had this happen to them when they were in purees/liquids/clears?

I did, I had dreamed I was floating in a river of macaroni and cheese LOL. It was so freaky. After I started eating more solid food I no longer have dreams of this sort.

LOL!! I love it! I hope I stop having these food porn dreams when I can eat real food again, too!

Glad I'm not alone. :D

Abby,
I used to have nightmares that bread and pasta were attacking me.  These stopped once I started being less rigid about my foods.
I forgot about those dreams!  I've stopped dreaming about food and just started eating them.  This is much easier.  I just don't eat much!

Rosa,

Attacking you? Intense, lol! I think I might have fought back in my dreams. ;) I'm starting to think of the dream like a food porn dream, and it might be similar to yours--because I am still on purees/liquids, I can't have them and have to be strict, making me obsess! I hope it gets better when I can eat real food!

I can remember having dreams like that early on. I just thought they were drug induced halucinations from pain meds. I also remember what a relief it was when I realized that food didn't have control over me any more. I remember being in constant fear that I had gone through all this and what if it didn't work. After all ...nothing had worked before. I was a salad eater. I tried to eat healthy. I had just gotten to the point after years of yo yo dieting that I was insuline resistent it didn't matter what I ate or what I did the weight stayed with me. This had to work it was my last resort. A year and 2 months later. I am very glad I took the plunge. Even with all my complications I would still do it again.
Nothing tastes as good as this feels!

I have food dreams all the time. I think I had one last night. In my dreams I am eating something like candy or crackers and I am disappointed at myself. I am always relieved when I wake up that it is just a dream. I am also a recovering addict, alcoholic and gambler and I still have those dreams, too. I haven't drank or used for 30 years and gambled for 8 but I still dream that I am doing it. I don't take it to mean anything other then that the disease is still alive and well within me.

I think, for me, it's my head hunger. My diet right now is so restrictive on fulls/purees that my brain is telling me I want all kinds of foods I wouldn't normally eat!

I have not had food dreams, lol. I'm glad because it would probably make me want bad stuff.
