I think I expected my post would elicit comments about how cooking fattening food for my family should not be confused with showing them love.... And that I should just get the food out of the house so that it doesn't tempt me.  I also appreciated that you not only validated my feelings, but you recognized that my guilty conscience could use some assuaging so you offered up a way to turn it positive.  AND on top of that you thought of a solution that would work for everybody and was a fresh and new idea that I simply had not thought of.

I guess I've been through enough in my life to know that there are going to be certain things about myself I can't or won't change.  I think that is where a lot of the failure comes into play with people who've had WLS.  We need to understand that WE made the choice for US to have WLS not our families and friends.  For some reason I'm positive your husband and children KNOW you love them and it has nothing to do with that darn pecan pie you made for dessert.......LOL  Have you thought maybe they just think you make a great pie??  If you have a real concern that your children who BTW are ALL healthy and in no way overweight and obviously not equating mommys love with food......but that's just my opinion.....I digress.......hehe......you should let them know that you enjoy making them all those great meals but if they WANT you to make a healthier choice you're more than willing to do that.

Kathy you have to remember that you made this choice for a good reason!  If you beat yourself up for it on a daily basis it isn't going to do for you what you intended it too!  You have to learn to change what YOU need to change for you to succeed and stop worrying about how your changes are going to affect those around you!  Because trust me they want what is best for you just as much as you do!  AND if you wanna make a delicious high fat, high calorie, sugar ladden meal for your family because it sounds like something THEY would enjoy and YOU WANT to do it..........then you should!

OK I'm done.......LOL
