Day 3 5DPT.....HOLY RESTRICTION!

Hey everyone!  So today is day 3.......everything is going well!  I finished off my night last night with one of the delicious Parmesan Tuna Patties Imade for today.......they smelled so good I had to eat one!  I changed the recipe a bit by adding 1 more Tbs of Kraft Parmesan and added an additional egg because I had about 3 oz more tuna than the recipe called for.  When I made them I scooped out 1/2C size patties.......which made 3......I guess I eyeballed the bowl wrong......LOL  I sat down to eat one of the patties......and holy crap I was full after 2/3 of it!  So that means I was able to eat about 1/3 C.....I haven't eaten that small of a meal in MONTHS!

Today will be about a 30 hour day for me so I made some hardboiled eggs and will bring those to work with me and the 1 pattie I have left as well as some of that PS soup I have left over......I also found my tub of Nectar Ice Tea I've been looking for!  So I made up 110oz of an "arnold palmer" type protein water I'll drink throughout the night! which has a total of 160Cals and 46gr of protein!

I feel like I'm doing really well!  I also feel like I'm back to 4 months post op where I felt like I was eating constantly.......LOL  I don't like that but it needs to be my life!

One thing I didn't do was weigh myself to see where I was at before starting because I wasn't doing this to LOSE weight.....that and the batteries are dead in my scale...LOL  I feel llighter tho!  Been pooing more regular too.......LOL

How is everyone else doing?  Did you start today or yesterday??  Let me hear your story!

WOW - sounds great!

I'm not actually on the 5DPT - I fell off on day 1 - lol... but didn't do too bad otherwise.

I've decided to stick to high protein and very low carb.  Today my carbs are a bit higher, but from greek yogurt, wheat tortilla (bought the wrong kind), SF cheesecake pudding (for the greek yogurt) and a SF latte.

I don't think my choices have been bad at all... but the carbs are running into the 50 range right now - so I need to stop eating NOW!

I'm working tonight, so I need to get/stay busy.  I also brought a double protein drink with me too I should drink - that will only add 2 carbs to my total, up my protein and give me lots more fluids.

Wow! It didn't take long to snap back into shape, you guys!  That's great!  I started out my day on the right track with protein chicken broth, water and coffee.  Then my house began to fill with the delicious aroma of pancakes cooking.  I honestly thought my brain was playing tricks on me.  But it sure made me crave me some pancakes!  After a couple of hours my will power wore down and I went to the freezer to get myself some of the leftover pancakes I had frozen the weekend before.  I discovered that my refrigerator konked out and the aroma of pancakes was coming from the quickly defrosting freezer.  After dumping a lot of expensive ruined food and then handing over a $400 check to pay for the repairs, I was not in a good frame of mind.  But on the bright side, I didn't eat the pancakes!  I ate leftover lasagna for dinner.  Tomorrow is a new day.

Well...........thank goodness for broken freezers!  I have been tempted by several things in my house........I've decided I'm not going to start the vicious cycle over again so I'm not touching them............LOL

That's exactly where your head needs to be. I love your determination. My head is still in the holiday. I'm obsessing over all the recipes I bought the ingredients for, but did not find the time to make. The bags of pecans unopened....the dozens of eggs still waiting to go into a coffee cake....I always feel like I failed at making the holiday 100% perfect by leaving some of these traditional things out. There were plenty of yummy things I did make for my family, but the print outs of recipes that I did not plan well enough to get made are haunting me like the ghost of Christmas past.  I keep obsessing over what a waste it was to spend time searching online for the best pecan pie or beef wellington, then making the shopping lists for the ingredients, then the time it took my helpful dh to pick them up for me... only now to see them sitting unused in my fridge and cupboards and the sheets of recipes still taking up space on my kitchen counter.  I'm a mess after the holidays.  I always feel like I was inadequate.  Any thoughts to snap out of this guilt trip and get my head into 2011? (My daugher is still home until the 18th and that's not helping matters. You know...the equating love with cooking thing......)

If all that stuff sitting around is making you antsy I would suggest MAKING it!

Have a conversation with DH and find out when a good day to bring all of those goodies to his work would be!  You can suprise his staff with all kinds of deliciousness and get that bug out of your system!  Make your lack of time to accomplish all those things into a positive.........trust me the food you make will be eaten up by someone OTHER THAN YOU!  AND everyone will think you are the COOLEST wife ever and your hubby will be the coolest DR in the office!......LOL

OR you could contact a womens shelter or a domestic abuse shelter and tell them you'd like to provide a meal for a couple of special families!...........There is a way to purge that inadaquacy/food demon!  And WE"LL find a way!

OR you could have DD invite a group of friends over for a nice party to "catch up" and you could cook for them.......

Heck I have a friend who is on bedrest who we've been cooking meals for that would love to have a great meal like that!

heather- those are great suggestions!  Really great.  I was just saying to Natalie (DD) that I could send in a couple of pies to Jonah's (DS) homeroom class too.  She is trying to eat healthier before going back to school too.  your suggestion is SO not what I expected to hear and I like it!  Thanks, pal.
