Did you know that there are surgery date forums?? After I was given my surgery date I joined the July 2009 forum here on OH. The folks I met on there were great and I also met many people who shared my date. I thought that would end up being my home here on OH....but then I found the LW's! As much as this board has to offer I still found myself resorting to my Julyer's board for those questions that only someone at the same stage as me could understand the full weight of what I was experiencing that day. I brought some of my best supporters here to the LW board and this is now our home......but I check up on the rest of them daily.....

So what I'm saying is you newly post ops might get some benefit from visiting your surgery date forum for the short term and find everything you need here with us on the LW board!

Have any of you checked out YOUR surgery date forum lately??

LOL..........you will NEVER wear out your welcome! I only mention the other forum because it helped me so much in ADDITION to the lightweights......It's just nice to know that there are people out there you can talk to that are at the same stage you are in your journey! Don't you dare leave us!!!!

I just checked mine - its pretty much dead... the last post was an answer I made back in October, to a question asked in May I think....

The further out you get, the less people that have your same surgery date are still on the boards.

I am pre-surgery (in some sort of twisted waiting game it feels like as my all of my pre-op tests were completed 2 months ago). I appreciate this as I was unaware of this forum and will look into it when I have a scheduled date (hopefully sooner rather than later). I imagine these type of surgery date forums are pretty busy at the beginning of your post op and then drop off from there. I learn something new about OH (and this journey) via these messageboards all the time.

Unless of course, they're all hiding from me. From time to time, folks do that to me.

I buzz over to the RNY forum from time to time.... the nice people from this forum are there too, but this forum feels more like my favorite slippers and PJs.
