I had 2 best friends who also struggled with their weights but I thought were the best friends I've ever had. (They are not friends with each other) In the last month they have both completely started ignoring me and literally run the other way when they see me. I don't want to jump the gun and assume it's jealousy but I don't know what else it could be. Oh and also a guy friend who doesn't know about my surgery was angry with me and said "go to the gym because trust me you're still fat" I am disappointed about these things but at the same time I'm thinking maybe it's a blessing ia disguise for me to find and surround myself with more positive people!

Definitely ditch the toxic friends. They'll either come around or they never knew how to be true friends. (((hugs)))

Unfortunately sometimes we find out who our REAL friends are after we lose weight.  I do think it is jealousy - are all of you overweight?  Are the other 2 thin?  It makes a difference how they saw you before - were you the "fun fat friend", but now you're skinny may be competition to them?

You have the right attitude to surround yourself with positive people.  I know a lot of us have gone through this...

Hope all goes well with you!  And welcome to the LW board!

One of them is fairly thin but the other one is a little bit heavier than I am.But, they were still very insecure. We were going out a lot and I was getting most of the attention which I understand can be weird for them but they should still be happy for me if they were my real friends. I'm definately looking forward to meeting some new positive people! Thank you so much!

True friends accept us with all our warts.  You may want to find some different activities where you can meet new people.   Often others think we took the easy way out--It keeps mindful watching and good decision making to lose and keep this weight off.Keep posting as we do understand what you are going through. Lin

Both of my friends have said several times that I took the easy way out. It wasn't the easy way out for me, this was a complete lifestyle change. There are a lot of active people where I live because of the beautiful park where you can hike, bike ride ect. so I think I will engage myself in those activities! Thanks so much :)

Find new friends.  Those weren't real anyway.
I have one friend who keeps telling me I've lost enough.  We use to be two fatties, now just one.  I just tell her I will at some point.  Not yet.

I've had a lot of people tell me I need to stop losing weight...they just see rapid weight loss and assume that you're "skinny" when actually i'm still borderline obese!

I'm so sorry this is happening to you. People can be jerks sometimes, and if they are that quick to ditch you, they aren't true friends. I think you are right that this is the motivation you need to find and surround yourself with more positive people! *hugs*
