Ok, I figured out what the letters stand for, but what does it mean??
Why would one need to test one's pouch?

I'm gunna start a translation list for all these words and phrases.
My favorite is still "swinging lizards."

Ah, now THAT's a GREAT thing to know, both the link and the rationale for 5DPT.
I had followed the pumpkin soup recipe and found the site, but honestly, still don't understand the concept.

I think it basically clears out your system of all the crap and junk you've been eating... breaks the blood sugar cravings of carbs etc.  and gets your pouch back into shape so that you can get back on your eating plan and continue to lose weight.

This is my first run on the 5DPT and I'm loving it!  I am feeling full sooner and feel restriction.....it's almost like I'm back to 3 months post op!!!  I have been wanting to eat some of my DD's crackers but have successfully resisted!  I just don't want to put those types of things back into my diet EVER again!  I truely believe that once you start eating that stuff it's next to impossible to get it out of your diet and you find yourself grabbing a hand ful of nasty carbs instead of say a string cheese wrapped in deli meat......I'm so happy I'm doing this!  You don't have to worry yet about this stuff but you will soon enough!......LOL

The 5DPT is really for people beyond their losing stage, or who are quite far out and have reached a massive stall.  It gets us "back to basics" mainly because we've let carbs, sweets and other evil things creep into our diets.

It puts our pouch back in control and helps give us back the restriction we had earlier post-op.

Its basically a "reality slap up" some of us need to give ourselves once in awhile....
