I'M HOME!!!
Hey everyone, It is 7:00 on 1/1/11 and I'm home. Just woke up from a good nights sleep. Stomach is sore but other than that I feel GREAT!! Surgery was very uneventful which is good. I got there at 5:00 a.m. on the 30th and they put us in a holding room. Billy was so tired because we had gotten up at 2:00 to drive there and be there on time. He can't stand to be late so we are always early!LOL Anyway, I spoke with the nurse, doctor, anethesiologist, and his assistant. The nurse put in my IV and then the anethesiologist nurse practitioner gave me versaid(sp??) and wisked me off to the operating room. I remember then having me breath in the mask a few times and that's it. I woke up and the first thing I asked Billy was, "Did they get to do the surgery?" He said yes, and I drifted off to happy land!LOL They got me up walking that afternoon but I don't remember. Billy said I'd walk a few steps, start swaying, and fall asleep standing up and then they would have to wake me up and start the process again. I was extremely nauseated and they gave me phenergan through my IV and I went to sleep. I don't remember much of Scott and Peg ifrom our doctors weight loss boards)coming to see me but I'm so glad they did! When I woke up on 12/31, I felt fantastic, like I didn't have surgery at all. I was sore in my stomach like I did about 1000 crunches but thats it. They came and took me for a leak test and that stuff is GROSS!!! Everything looked good. I ate 1/2 cup of sugar free jello and about 1/2 cup broth. That's it. I am anxious to make me some thinned out grits today and see how that goes. Oh, yeah...I thought about Dee right after Dr. Garth left and said everything went great and I could go home today because I had to poot and I poo'd! I then remember her saying, "Never trust a fart!"LOL Anyway, I then got up and showered and layed down until I had to TT and then let us go. I LOVED the nursing staff at Methodist. They were WONDERFUL! I got some pics with some for my scrapbook I'm making to document this whole journey. Thank you all for your prayers and support! I love you all very much:o)
