OT breast biopsy

OK....just need to vent a bit as I am a little worried....

I had a mammogrm last week.  They see microcalcifications that have trippled from the last mammogram and a biopsy is needed.  The odds are in my favor (75% are nothing) ....and if it is something, it is early.  But what the he11....I am finally in decent shape and now this.

I guess if I have to see a bright side...I would choose  a prophalactic bilateral mastectomy with full reconstruction.... which means NEW BEEWBIES!   But I hope that does not have to happen.

Anyone else go through this?

Not to your extreme. Every mamogram ends up being repeated and followed up with an utlrasound every 6 months. Havent had a biopsy yet. The spot on the right doesnt show up on the ultrasound so the doc doesnt want to biopsy at this point and cause scarring for more to show up on the mamm.
Prayers that the biopsy comes out negative!

Lori, I hope everything turns out ok for you.

I have a friend that just went through this.  She is in the last part of reconstruction right now.  She was on the LW Board some, but hasn't been on in a while.  Not sure if she will see this or not.  Let me know after your results are in, if you want to talk with her, I'll contact her and get her in touch with you.  She is really great and has done good through it all.  I don't want to put her name here unless she says it is ok.
