2nd day post-op
HI all,
Firstly let me thank you all the support pre-surgery, it really helped to put me at ease.
My surgery was scheduled for 2:30 on Dec 28th, my surgeon was running ahead of schedule so I was operated on a little earlier than planned. It was a 'textbook' surgery and after 2 hours in recovery I headed to my room for lots of rest and sleep. I didn't get up and walk about nearly as much as I would have liked to as I was suffering badly from nausea and was terrified of being sick, even though I had an anti-nausea patch and ant-nausea meds.
I was discharged at 10:30 the following morning and my friend and I made the drive back to Vail. Since getting home I have been sipping and walking and taking naps when needed. I'm almost reaching my fluid goal each day and getting in bits of protein when I can.
After surgery I was in far greater pain than I had anticipated but it is getting less as less and time goes on.
I am so excited to start this next chapter in my life. 2011 is going to be an amazing year!
