I discovered: I Dump

We were tidying the house this morning in preparation for our New Year's Eve Party.  I took a cookie off a tray.  I have eaten cookies (2) without an issue before, but not on an empty stomach.

I ended up in the fetal position on my bed.  Then nearly fetal on the toilet ... twice!  I was wiped out!

Lesson learned!  I'm sharing so someone else doesn't make the same stupid mistake. And boy was it stupid!!!

I'm feeling much better, but still out of sorts.

Ugh!

Kay stole the cookie from the cookie jar............

and now she's paying for it!    I'm sorry you had to go through that.......but remember that feeling the next time you reach for JUNK!  I know you don't think your lucky.......but falling into that 30% of dumpers is something I wish I had!

I don't know if I dump but I am assuming that I do. Actually I have a feeling that I do because I had something like dumping before, with my original surgery, even though I didn't have a pouch, I had a sleeve. Several times I would be in the bathroom throwing up, with diarrhea, wishing I could die. The strange thing is it was never after I ate anything. In fact it would be several hours after I ate. Most of the time it would wake me up from a dead sleep. I didn't know if it was really dumping, all I know is that I found myself longing for death, as I have heard that people who dump do. What is funny is that hasn't happened in 5 months, since my revision. If dumping is anything like what I went through I sure don't want to experience it.

I find that I dump less if I've eaten some protein, then a cookie. . . but it's awful, isn't it? The worst episode I ever had was grapes. OH GOD! I wanted to DIE! I have never been that sick before or since. UCK!

Oh my goodness, I'm preop and I find this all so confusing!  After reading this it seems ANYTHING might cause a dumping episode!  It sounds miserable and I certainly want to avoid it!  Tell me again, is it all sugar, or other things too??
