Yes, in about 4 days, I will have my revision to RNY.  I feel everything right now: excited, nervous, anxious, happy, sad, etc.  I dont think my mind has caught up with everything because of all that I have going on: holiday, housecleaning, children, husband, prepping for surgery.  I would appreciate any encouraging words, advice, well wishes, words of caution, etc. that you may have. Ok, now I'm going to exhale lol!!!

I'm so excited for you!  I think you will be much happier with the RNY.  I'm not saying the LapBand is a bad choice for everyone but it was obviously a bad choice for you!  Generally LW RNYers lose thier weight within the first 12 months some even in the first 6-9 which is a significantly higher percentage of weightloss in a shorter amount of time.  With the malabsorption you will not be as comfortable eating many of the things you can with the LapBand.  If you don't dump your body will let you know you are overdoing it with carbs by making a god awful smell come from your butt.....I'm telling you this smell is HORENDOUS!  It's so bad it will peel the paint off the walls and send everyone running and screaming in horor.......(that's my warning to stay away from carbs)  LOL  You wont have to go in for fills trying to find AND maintain your "sweetspot"......overall I think your experience will be much better overall.  Unlike with the lapband you will see signifigant results within the first 2 months!

You can do this......I understand you have fears we all did and still do.....That's why we are here getting support from eachother when we falter and fall down!  You will do fantastic with your new pouch sweetie......no worries.......we got you!!!

Good luck!

I'm right there with ya!  Revision in one week.  I'm so scared I won't have enough restriction after my lapband is gone, and I'll start eating everything in sight!   I just hope the RNY works!  I'm scared to let myself get excited...I pinned all my hopes on the lapband and it was not something I had much success with.

I'm sending good vibes your way for a successful surgery!  You will be home before you know it and I will look forward to your posts from the "other side"!

Congrats to you as well!  NO worries you WILL have restriction with the RNY.......Think of it this way.......Your surgeon is going to permanently suture off you tummy!  You will not have a band that can slip, nor will you have to worry about wether or not your band is full enough....you already know how to chew your food properly so you don't clog so you can't strech out your stoma ......you will do great too!  We are all here to support you!  Good luck!

Good luck to both of you. You will do great. For me it is nice to be satisfied after eating a small amount. I still look at my food and think there is no way that is enough and it always is
