Shapewear?

Hello!!!  I have been gone for a long time!  I went back to college full time for nursing and between that and 3 kids, that kicked my butt.

I am just over a year out now, and am down to a small shirt and a size 6 pants.  My biggest issue is my stomach.  It is a pile of skin, and it makes me look like I have an eternal muffin top.

I cannot afford to have the surgery, and I would want to be further out from my RNY first anyway.

But the other day in the dressing room at Old Navy, my 7 year old exclaimed that my stomach looked like a butt and my butt looked like a stomach!

I went to Target and tried on the Assets (made by the creater of Spanx) and small was too big apparently!  It didn't pull anything in, and I am sure I need something tighter.

DO you use shapewear?  What brands are good?  I want to go to the mall tomorrow to get something.

I read about spanx (but they were the same measurements for small), flexees, and Dr. Rey's.

Please help!  Thanks!

Here's my suggestion. I'd go to one of those specialty lingerie stores, the old-fashioned kind. (If you are in NYC I have some specific suggestions, but if not, I imagine you might know where there are some in your area.) Around here, these kinds of stores set up appointments for consultations.

If you have no idea where there is one in your area, I'd call a bridal shop and see where they send their brides for shapewear. They're experts, too.

I'd go into the store and describe your needs and see what they give you to try. Going to a place that works with brides will help find you smaller sizes, I would think, since a lot of brides need some sort of shaping to get in those gowns properly.

Good luck, and welcome back, by the way!

You look amazing.

I would check out this website....
www.telegaleria.com

They are a little on the spendy side but well worth it!  The selection is great too!

I have found that the Assets tanktops work well when tucked in......I'm not sure that they come in an XS tho.....

Victoria Secret has some great shapewear as well.

Keep in mind that you will have to give up the "prettiness" of underwear when you dealve into shapewear......LOL

Macy's has some different types/brands of shapewear that I've tried on in the past. And they always have sales!! I know I will def need something to hold my middle together at some point too.

Congrats on your success! You look great! I know I had bought some in the past, big girl sizes on hsn or qvc, cant remember which one, called lipo in a box. Maybe they have petite sizes too.
Good luck on your venture.

Thanks Ladies!

I tried Macy's today, that was ridiculous.  They wouldn't help me at all.  I did find a small (one) in the Flexees, it was a body suit, but was not small enough to pull in all of this skin.  I noticed a difference in the sides, but not the front.  I tried on some tops too but they definitely didn't have enough control.

I may go to a local lingerie shop that people rave about, but they are expensive, so it may have to wait until tax return time.  I did leave JcPenney with some new bras in my new smaller size though.

I need an old fashioned corset.  LOL!

I saw some little thingies at Ann taylor like a bodysuit that would squeeze all the parts right above where the jeans meet ..... looked pretty clever ( and expensive ) BUT theyre having a massive sale right now

I know they had x small .......

personally shapewear's not my thing - Id rather do 50 jarate kicks each side - does the same thing Ull find and a LOT more comfortable to wear Ur own skin ;) . Do that for a week from every angle when U get up and voila ...no muffin top to speak of ( dont forget the salicylic acid scrub in the shower ) .

And by the way insurance Pays for PS !! at least mine does ...
