I had very high liver enzymes and the DR did a biopsy during my RNY.  I have NASH and now see a liver specialist.  The only way to deal with NASH is to lose weight, so on the right track.  I hope your tests turn out all right and you're able to have your surgery.

Thanks Lucy...me too! I'm sure they will do a liver biopsy during surgery also if it's not hepatitis and I still have it.

Oh dear!  I know that is scary and frustrating!  Praying for you....Dr. Davis is an expert and I'm glad he's not willing to put your life in jeopardy for surgery...he will do the surgery when the time is right and hopefully that will be very soon!  All these health issues are going to be GONE very soon!!!

Hang in there....I'm sure this is a minor blip in the whole journey!

I had very high liver enzymes after one test too. A second check and they normalized. Still don't know what caused it but sure hope yours is a minor problem too.

Mine have been high for over 3 years now...but at least they are testing now as to why?? I would rather know than not so I'm glad they have found a need to test further.

My last blood test had very high liver enzymes.  I was taking lovastatin for cholesterol.  My PCP took me off the lovastatin and I just had a redraw yesterday to check them since I've been off the medicine.  We are hoping that is what ran mine high.  I had a fatty liver prior to surgery.  I am now taking Milk Thistle as recommended by Gina.

Good luck and I sure hope he can get it figured out so you can have your surgery.  Keep us posted.

Thank you Linda, I hope yours was just the cholesterol and it probably was. I'll let you all know as soon as I know.
