Help me make sense of this..
I have lost 15lbs since surgery, but I still can't button my jeans. And I could button them pre-surgery.
SO.... (A), is my midsection still swollen/bloated, and
(B), do i lose my midsection sort of last??
Did anyone else have this problem? Is this normal? Is it just my body? lol
Thanks for any insight! :)

I didn't own any pants that had to be buttoned when I weighed 248 pounds. All of my pants had a stretch waist. I lived in sweat pant type of clothing for the first month after my surgery. Now I LOVE having jeans that button. I finally look cute again. I love shopping for clothes, too.
You will be better soon. Don't worry about it. You ARE still swollen and it WILL go down before you know it. Just wear comfy clothes for now.
I'm on the sidelines cheering you on. You are doing GREAT!!!
Hugs,

I would imagine that you still have swelling and bloating, but give your body time. I am getting close to 3 months out, and my stomach area is finally going away. In the past when I lost weight (before surgery), my stomach always stayed huge! This is the first time that my stomach has significantly gotten smaller and I love it! Just hold on a while and it will happen. Your body will start changing and you will be amazed at the results! I love wearing jeans now! I used to think people were crazy when they said they would throw on a pair of comfortable jeans! Now I understand!

Both, maybe. I was definately still swollen for a couple of weeks. I also lost weight in my face and boobs first, the butt and legs, arms, then tummy. I also stayed in the same pants for many lbs. The smaller sizes get, the less pounds there are between then, if that makes sense. From 24 to 18 was slow even though I was losing faster. From 18 to 14 has been fast, even thought the weight loss has slowed.
Sounds like you are doing great. It will happen, and if you are like me, you will continue to be amazed.

I am in the same boat. Jeans that fit before I had surgery, I cannot do up. My bras are saggy (LOL) guess that means they aren't helping what is in them much.
Right now I am wearing dresses with legging (stockings). Ultra comfortable and easy to wear.
Like you I want to be in jeans/trousers soon. Hopefully our swelling will go down soon-ish!
Merry Christmas

Thanks so much for the feedback! In the past, if I lost this much weight, I'd be down a pants size, so it was unnerving this morning to put on jeans only to discover they didn't fit! :(
I have been living in yoga pants since surgery, but I start back at school on Jan 3rd and need to be 'dressed' for class (nursing school-we need to be 'business casual'). I never thought there would be a chance I wouldn't be able to fit my old pants. AACK! And you know how it is... Heck if i'm going out to buy fat pants just to wear for a month. hmph!
Guess i'll need to get creative (maybe the rubberband trick??) and make it work. Ace bandage my belly first? haha
Guess there could be a whole slew of other things to really complain about, huh? :)

Yep, it's swelling! Here's a suggestion, and I wish I'd heard of these things back when I first was sleeved. You know those button things you see on the infomercial (danged if I can remember the name of them!)... that basically let you pinch a new button onto your pants? Right now you can use them to make them bigger around the waist.... in a month, you'll be using them to make the waist tighter. They even make wearing belts when your pants get baggy so much easier, 'cause the waist doesn't get all scrunched up and bunchy under the belt, and they make transitioning between sizes much smoother.
I found mine at Walmart for something like $8 for a set of six, and I think I found them in the sewing stuff. What the heck is the name of those things? I want to call them Magic Button but I know that's not right LOL.
