Non Chewables = Gas?

I'm a little over a year out and twice I have tried to start "swallowable" vitamins and calcium....it seems like the norm (starting to see a pattern)that they cause horrible gas. Today I took two calcium mini's and a centrum vitamin...and since then I have gas pains.

Anyone else get this. Just ordered chewable from Vitalady. I guess I better stick to what works.

I do chewable multis but everything else is swallowable.  I have gas all the time, not painful.  Don't know if there is any relationship.

I don't have a problem with the regular calcium, but regular multi-vitamins make me gassy and even make me throw up. I stick to chewables on them, but everything else is fine.

I have problems with chewable calcium.  I don't like taking pills... so can't comment on them.

I've found the days I miss my calcium and protein I'm gassy free....

Wow, it really does make you wonder if there is something to this. I tried capsule multis once -- it is the only time I've thrown up since surgery. So, I've stuck with chewable everything.

2 chewable multis
3 chewable calciums
1 chewable iron
sublingual d3 & b12

I kind of enjoy the flavors I have, so it doesn't bother me a bit.

I still throw up calcium and multi's so I take BA calcium chews and adult gummy vitamins from Costco.  They may not be the best, but at least I'm taking them.

I take pills for everything. The only time I get gas is if I buy protein bars with a lot of sugar alcohols or go nuts on the sports drinks (carbs!).

Ugh...I hate protein bars pretty much. I had some wafers that were okay. The bars are so sweet tasting and I hate the sugar alcohols.

There's a certain kind I can't stand. Everyone else loves them, but I hate them. I think those are the ones you are talking about because they are low carb, high protein, full of sugar alcohols, and have a texture and an aftertaste that I really can't take.

So I buy some bars that are not really aimed at WLS patients and those are pretty good. For one thing, they have actual sugar in them instead of sugar alcohols. (So they'd kill you if you dump.) They aren't too sweet either.

But anything with more than 10 grams of protein tends to taste a little "weird" IME. So it's kind of a balance between having enough protein vs. having too much sugar. A lot of the bar manufacturers don't get it right. (By right I mean "the way I want it. )

I keep saying I need to make my own but I just never get around to it.

I dont get gas, but citrical seems to cause some constipation. Will be switching back to the chewables when done with these.
