Just another annoying Vitamin Question

You can get dry D3 at most places that carry vitamins these days. My normie (no WLS) son takes 5,000IUs a day of dry D3. Most docs don't know anything about dry D3, they've only been taught to be scared of D (generic oil-based D). Just trying to let you know what you might hear when you talk to your PCP. Your surgeon may know more...maybe.

I don't have any advice you haven't heard already......My surgeon has me taking my multi seperate from my calcium which I split into 3 daily doses.

I also use the GNC CHEWY D-3 1000IU........it tastes like a tootsie roll!  It's my favorite one to take.....LOL  I've never asked our VIT GALS if it isan OK one to take tho......hint hint.....Gina......LOL

Now I'm confused! I don't go in for labs until next month (3 month labs) and I hit for 1500 mg chewable calcium/day. They are 300 mg each so i take 3 then 2 a few hours later. They don't have added D so I bought fast acting liquid D3 5000 iu at  Vitamin World. Please someone tell me this is the correct kind of D3?

And (sorry to steal your thread...) but what kind of iron is best for us RNYers? I need to add that with a good C, so please holler, someone who knows!!!!

If the liquid is not oil, you should be very fine. I want to say Diana had very good luck with liquid D3 drops. Your next labs will tell.

I think the word on the street is carbonyl iron (such as Vitalady's Tender iron) and heme iron (such as Colorado Labs Proferrin ES, which Vitalady also carries). Carbonyl iron is cheaper than heme but may cause some people a little constipation and you do need to take it away from your other vitamins and no calcium/dairy, eggs, wheat or caffeine. I take a combo of carbonyl and heme during the day. Tender iron in the afternoons, well after calcium, and Proferrin at bedtime.

Just read my D3 bottle.. A full dropper full is 5000 iu. Its ingredients are sunflower oil and vegetable oil as weel as natural orange flavor. It's pleasant enough to take. Hope it's working.
