Thanks and waiting for surgery
Thanks so much to everyone for such a warm welcome! I'm in the hospital and went through all the rounds of doctors and exams and whatnot, and am waiting for my surgery. I'm going either 3rd or 4th. I'm so hungry and so tired. The hotel beds were crap, and I had some serious anxiety thanks to some well-meaning friends who told me last minute I didn't need surgery and maybe I just didn't try whatever diet for long enough. :( Anyway, I wanted to check in and thank everyone for the kind words and support. :)

Hang in there! All will be well, at about a year out I can tell you this was the smartest thing I ever did. You may not think so a day or even a few days in...it's not easy, but I can promise you IF you stick to your Dr's orders you will be fine! Have faith, and good luck we will see you on the other side!
Be proud of yourself....I am proud of you for making this choice!

I am almost four weeks out. I can tell you I had some rough moments and will probably have more. That said I am so GRATEFUL for this help to lose weight. I am 64 and have spent most of my life (first diet at 11) struggling with my weight. Now I can succeed. I still have to do the work, but it's like having a fabulous coach, who is with me 24/7. When I screw up and take the extra bite, I know it, no more deluding myself.
Welcome to the loser's bench and wishing you an easy recovery!

I so understand how you felt after well meaning friends put their 2 cents in... Thing is, we ALL got here (overweight) due to our inability to move AWAY from the table before doing greaat harm. This "tool" keeps it real for me.
Wishing your recovery to be super quick and easy. Please check back in. I am 8 wks post-op today, feel fantastic and appreciate the support on this forum also.
