Soup
I don't see my nutritionist until January 7th. and I have a question about soup. I have been eatinkg/drinking about 1/2 to 1 cup of tomato soup over the course of 30 minutes, using it as a meal. Is soup a meal? Do I have to limit the amount of soup? I thought I was reading somewhere to only drink 2 oz? I'm thoroughly confused. I know that everyone's nutritionist has different instructions but I just wanted to see what they have said.
Thanks for any input!

Not sure what the rule is for soups and RNY. My surgeon's plan for RNY and DS early out is pretty much the same and the plan says soups are fine but recommends "cream of whatever" soups rather than tomato unless you're lacing it with cheese and lactaid milk for protein. The doc's goal is to keep you feeling full longer, so they don't want you doing a lot of liquids and counting it towards a meal. They think fat people have no control and need to pack their pouches and sleeves with dense meat so they won't overeat even 2 weeks out...yeah, right like we even could overeat.

Soup should be fine......I would maybe protien it up a bit so you aren't taking in quite the volume.....One thing you will find is that when you eat a more dense meal you will eat A LOT less and stay full A LOT longer! Sounds like you well on your way to being a skinny B!.......LOL
