I don't think I dump anymore...
I pushed the envelope today with pie, candy, fudge... and didn't feel bad afterwards (except the guilt). I know some RNY folks dump for a long time - and I was really hoping I was one of them, and was willing to face the consequences today.. but alas, it wasn't meant to be.
It was my family's Christmas at my daughters' today. BF made me a very good SF peach pie - and I did eat a piece of that guilt free - but then there was peppermint ice cream cake (a few bites), and my daughter got a BIG box of chocolates, of which I had about 5 pieces of. I also ate a molasses cookie concoction that last year would have had me sleeping within 5 minutes. Then when I got home had a nice piece of peanut butter fudge and no issues...
Well, the issue may be the scale... which I am going to have to face...
Who'd have thought I'd be sad to see the day come when I could eat sugar again? I've never been a big sweet eater, but have been sucked into its grips from time to time... Perhaps I built my tolerance back up by the wine I've been drinking? Is that possible?
I hope everyone had a great Sunday! I'll be MIA off and on - tomorrow my BF's having his rotator cuff surgery. The hospital has wifi so I'll have my computer with me. Tues he'll be at my place recuperating so I'll be around, but Wed we head back out to his place, which has NO internet for a few days, then back here for Christmas with my kids - and it'll be busy again.
I love seeing how busy this board is and I tried to catch up best I could. Tomorrow I'll see if I can catch the rest of the posts I missed the past few days.

I though that too, then one day I ate something with just a tad of sugar, a vinaigrette salad dressing, and wham, I was dumping again. I can eat something one day and be fine, then the next I will dump again. So I am back to not sugars.
Nick
Thanks for your input.. I was wondering...

Luckily, sweets were not my weakness/downfall before sugar....it was breads, starches, pasta, etc. and they DO NOT sit well in my pouch at all!!!
Take some extra walks with BF and those calories will be GONE! Merry Christmas!
PS...What a SWEETIE for making you that pie! He's a keeper!
I have been sensitive to sugar all along (since surgery of course)... but I'm not going to be pushing the envelope. I'm going to keep following the rules and pretend it will still bother me, as Nick has indicated it might.
I'm also a starch (chips) person. I have to be careful with them now because of my Reactive Hypoglycemia - so that keeps me in check with them.
And yes, he IS a sweetie and definitely a keeper!

Tell the BF we're swinging lizards for him that his surgery is successful and recovery is quick. Good thing he has you to take care of him. Have a great Christmas, Jody.

Thanks for swinging the lizards - he's a bit concerned... not so much because of the surgery but because of the recovery.

Best wishes to BF for that surgery. I think I told you my mom had it. The recovery was very painful, but, in the end, she had her full range of motion back, and it made an enormous difference in her quality of life. I guess that's always the goal with surgery, no?
Please have a merry Christmas if I don't have a chance to say that to you then!
His ended up being a lot better than they thought - it wasn't torn after all and was a bone spur. I had the same thing 3 years ago and I don't even remember the details it was so noneventful! Yea!
