Wow! That sounds really cheap.  I have had my face done and it was $450 a treatment.

I am too blonde as well.  I have been epilating my underarms for about a year now.  I use to get them waxed but I prefer the epilation.  I really only have to do it about one a month now as less and less grows back in.  I also do it on my legs and there too, it is coming in less and less.  It pinches a little, but less than waxing and is very cost effective.  That said, if I could, I would get the lazer and be done with it.  Love your posts, Rosa!

Good for you for doing something special for yourself.  I've been having the laser hair removal (bikini and next time start on legs).  My practitioner had me buy a cream that is 5% lidocain.  It was expensive ,$60 for small tube.  It is over the counter although I had to call around to a couple of pharmacies to find one who knew about it and ordered it for me.  It was well worth the price.  She put it on the area she was going to laser.  And I pay over @
$200 a treatment.  If you have any questions PM me.  Enjoy those smooth arm pits!

Paula, that sounds very helpful!  You put it on before the treatment to reduce the pain?

I'd love to try that.  Olga promises that it will hurt less at each treatment.  Did you experience that, too?

Do you remember the name of the cream?

yes, you put it on the area to be lasered for several minutes before you begin.  I had very little discomfort with it.  I am going for my second treatment in two weeks so I can't speak to the lessening of the pain but really like the idea!

The cream I used was called Emla Cream.  It has lidocaine in it.  I'm sure there are other brands.  It takes about 30 minutes to become effective.  So I would get to my appointments early and they would apply it and I would wait till I was numb, then they would begin the lasering.

Very helpful, thank you, Laura!  And I'm glad to hear that it's been so effective for you.

How many treatments did you need?

It took about 6 for the legs and bikini and a few more for the under arms.  But they charged much less after the initial 6 treatments...kind of a touch up fee.  Also when I had the last couple of touch ups on the under arms I no longer needed the Emla Cream because the hairs were so much finer and it really didn't hurt anymore.  Let me say that not shaving for so many years has been worth the money and the pain too!  Good luck with your treatments and let me know if I can answer any more questions.

Just to let you know, as the hairs get finer the pain is greatly reduced.  I've done my under arms, full legs and bikini.  I haven't shaved in 6 years!
