Fitness Challenge - December 18 Come one come all LW's...preop, newly post op, and...
Good morning LW's or afternoon for you easterners....
I wanted to extend out invites to all LW's. If you are not sure what the "Fitness Challenge" is, basically it is a challenge to you to get moving. Anything goes...hard core weights, cardio addicts (lifts my hand high...lol) pilates, ballet, dancing, ZUMBA, and on and on and on. The real goal is to not become stagnant in our routine and not to put off fitness. Staying active provides so many benefits. I know being active has helped me out tremendously in my year post op journey. As I continue on past my year surgiversary...I look forward to many more benefits of fitness to come. So, the invite is for all to join. Just post what you plan to do and/or what you already did for fitness. You'd be very surprised how motivational we can be and what great ideas and inspiration we can get from others. So please....welcome!!!
Today felt so damned good to sleep in. My doggy was sick over the last 2 days...ER visit and all. After 1 night in hospital vet hooked up to IV and observation at regular vet for 2nd day and a few sleepless nights...she's back on the mend. Antibiotics and bland diet for a week. She doesn't eat people food and I either was told to buy the vets' expensive food or make her chicken and rice w/no spices...guess what I picked to do since I just dropped $700 for this episode...CHICKEN and RICE babeee!!!
Oh my life...I swear I am someone's science experiment...lol...let's see how much she can tolerate..lol
So anyways...back to business. Gym today...cardio...45 min minimum on elliptical. I got a nice new workout outfit from my secret santa at work. :)
What are your plans? Or what did you do today?
Shopping is definitely on the list of 'activities'. That and cleaning...oh yes, no rest for this wicked LW.
Have a safe, warm, happy holidays day today.

Today is going to be my first day back at the gym. im going with my husband. I am super excited, I am looking forward to see how much I am able to do since I have not gone to the gym in over 2 months. I am 6 weeks post op, should I do some weights or stick to just light cardio?
I look forward to joining the fitness challenges moving forward! I hope your doggy feels better soon.
Thanks
Cindy

Hi there Cindy...I would stick with cardio only until the doc gives you clearance for weights. You wouldn't want to have any incisional hernias develop. I lived off of cardio for a while and then kicked it up with weights later on...
My doggy is feeling much much better. I guess those little guys get sick quick ~ like kids and they can crash just as quick so it was truly an emergency with her. She is back to her sassy self. Hhhmmm, me with a sassy dog...naw....lol
Keep up the good work there sunshine and take it easy ~ you'll know when you are ready to move on to weights.

We've been nursing 2 hurt dogs from a dog fight 2 weeks ago today. Both are finally better but one is still on meds, one still has stitches. $700 sounds good, unfortunately. I think our total is going closer to 2K. Here is hugs to your doggy.
I did 30 min on the Wii this morning then went shopping. Walking the mall was at least warm and I did find a huge new store. It is an outlet for Dillards with everything 70% off and then lots of stuff another 30-50% off that. The only problem is it is mostly last seasons clothes so you would have to know what size you were going to be by then.
