I will be 6 months out on the 22nd of December. I have slowed down with weight loss. I have heard of stalls around 6 months, but need to know if others stalled around 6 months and if so how long with no weight loss. I really want to reach goal and do not want my journey to end so soon.

I slowed down at 6 or 7 months but I was already in the normal range by then. Then it took another 5 months to get to goal. I would only lose 3, 1.5 or .5 pounds per month. Hang tough!

I had stalls but very few.  I had lost 92 lbs by 5 months post-op.  I wish I could offer more advice.  I'm sure your just hanging onto water and cals.  Your prob. losing inches even if the scale isnt moving.

Best wishes!
Ash ;o)

same here,

I noticed a dramatic slow down at 5 1/2 months... and now its "creep mode"... but all in all I wouldn't trade Memorial Day for Christmas with being down 50lbs!

All I want for Christmas is 3lbs lost! hehehe

Is that 85 pound loss all since surgery? You might be slowing down just because of how rapidly you have lost all that weight. Hang in there. I'm 16 months out and still losing. It's a great journey. Try to enjoy it even when it gets hard!

Hugs,

I have definately lost inches. I lost about 12lbs 2 weeks before surgery. My last weight at MD office prior to surgery was 247 (a week before) but I do not remember them weighing me right before surgery. So basically yes I have lost that much since surgery. I am just scared because i have never been in a stall this long or lost at such a slow speed since surgery. I guess as I get closer to goal it will slow. I have 6 more months of losing at least I hope. Surely I can lose 25lbs in 6 months. My highest recorded weight was 252 so I have done well and I should be happy :-)

I sympathize with you. I have only lost about 3 lbs since the first of the month. I added some more protein and my weight slows to a crawl. I don't want to eat too little and get my body used to it but when I add more calories it really affects my weight loss. I know it's probably because I am close to my goal but I would like to make goal sometime in my lifetime.

I'm not at 6 months yet but I wouldn't worry.  You have a good 18 months to lose.  You have a year left.  Just stick to the plan and it will happen for you.

Hang in there.  Things do slow down, but they don't stop.  If you are exercising, perhaps you can change up your routine.  Maybe add another 15 minutes a day.  I'm the slowest but it still keeps happening.  My weight hasn't changed much in the last four months, but I've gone from 14 jeans to 10 so something is changing.  Take measurements and pictures so that you can see your changes.

Be kind to yourself.
