I see...I've always been that way too. Bigger on bottom and smaller on top.

My 1st 45 lbs went pretty much un-noticed (or people were trying to be rude) but now every 5 lbs is making a huge difference.

As far as size differences...it's all fat percentage, bone structure and muscle mass. I will never be a size 6...I look lean and with curves in the right places at a size 8 or 10. Below that and I would look unhealthy. Everyone is diifferent. I am celebrating everyone in their differing but healthy sizes!! :)

 I think the toughest part of all this is when we compare ourselves to everyone else.  Enjoy your journey and revel in every little change that you see in yourself.  Everyone else will be raving soon enough.  :)

Someone once likened it to 20 sheets off of a paper towel roll.

If its a fresh unused roll - 20 sheets does not make that big of a difference to your eye, but if the roll is half gone or 1/4 gone - 20 sheets makes a big difference!

Our bodies definitely distribute differently and lose differently, that's why some folks who are apple shaped do not lose their belly until last, and still have skin issues, or that's the first place any weight ggain comes back, and then those other people (like MzAbejita mary) her belly is BEAUTIFUL and smooth, because she carried her weight more in her arms and lower extremities, than in her belly.

But in the end its all noticeable!  If its not noticeable, its not the end!  :}

Thanks! Your are 100% right here. I gained weight last in my stomach and so I guess its the first place its coming from. Funny thing is that I began looking into WLS when my stomach started getting bigger and insterad of the girl with a big butt I became round with a big belly. I wore a Victoria Secret sweat shirt that I haven't worn in a while so in that respect I can tell but I am so big in the thighs I just can't wait for pants to start fitting right.

Thanks so much for your perspective it really helped!

I hate when the junk in your trunk moves to under your durn hood!

My daddy used to say about his big ol belly "if you had a tool like mine, you'd build a shed over it too."

Its just not that funny when a lady says it!  :}

I am built like a ruler - but I had boob-do (you know, the woman version of dick-do, where my stomach stuck out further than my boob do? :} - which I guess now is boob-did? ) so, my tum came down pretty quick, at first (probably because there werennt those massive amounts of foodies in there) but then it came off everywhere else pretty evenly.

And when I say evenly, I say that meaning, I still have little pudge pockets, but they are not going anywhere unless I have another surgical intervention, which I am not likely to do because financially its just a no go, and I can do the best I can to fix it with exercise and evening out by making other places bigger :}.

My thighs have always been big too - I ALWAYS had to get "long" pants, just so my freaking thighs would fit!

Except - that whole being shaped like a ruler thing - I never have the tiny waist and then the nice caboose thing!  Always just up and down!

luckily for me, now they have midrise britches which I LOVE, so things can fit in the booty and in the waistband!  yaaay!

You are welcome girlie - it seems so "obvious" except sometimes it does not occur to us to look at something any differently than we do!

You are welcome to share the paper towel story with anyone you care to!  I am sure whomever I shared it from (and probably the person they shared it from :} ) would not mind a bit!

I had a good chuckle the other day. A surgeon I work with, that I see atleast 3 times a week, asked me if I was losing weight, and when I replied like 70 pounds, he kind of chuckled!
I thought at only 5'1" it would have been a little more noticable before now. But now people comment on how my face looks so much smaller and now I think my tummy is starting to go down.
I think it just takes people awhile to see the difference. It took me a while too. Just recently I seem to be changing clothing sizes quicker than in the beginning.

Keep taking your measurements about once a month, it really helped me to see the inches changing when nothing else seems to be moving!
