Should I have lost anything yet? Surgery was Dec 8th. (RnY)  I'm just really frustrated and need to vent.  Any late losers out there, when did you see any weight loss?

I have seen many people who actually gained 20-30 lbs from having surgery.....I wieghed 4lbs more the day after surgery.......Did they ever wiegh you the day of surgery?  You could be retaining water.....what is your current fluid intake?  The more fluids you get into your body the quicker you lose the water you are retaining......I know it seems backwards to have to ingest MORE water in order to get rid of excess......You will step on that scale one day and you will see a HUGE drop!  When is your follow up with Dr Gipson?

I had follow up yesterday.  they said everything is on track and incisions look good.  I've been getting in my fluids and got the ok to begin adding 20g of protein now and next week get it up to 40 and so on.  I weigh the exact same as I went in to surgery at and I only gained a couple lbs from surgery.

It has to be water or swelling or something.  As little calories as you are taking in right now, you will lose, I promise.  I weighted more 4 days out than I did before surgery by about 5 lbs.

You just need to trust the process. You are too soon out. You probable have water weight still on board.

Hang in there.

I was going to say the same thing as the others. Get as much water as possible. Also, drink your protein shakes. Hang in there...it will come off! It's not possible to not lose consuming so few calories. You must be retaining water, swelling, etc. Your body just went through a major ordeal.
