Secrets from the Skinny World...
I keep meaning to start a thread on this periodically, but forget. So here goes:
What secrets are you discovering from the skinny world? Now, you may be thinking, "I'm not skinny, Rosa." Well, I'm not either. But I'm starting to discover secrets from their world, anyway, as I come closer and closer. And some of you have already reached the skinny planet, and know so many more of its secrets! Do share.
Some that I've discovered?
- fat arses make sitting more comfortable. Bony arses make sitting much less fun, and I can't sit for more than a few minutes at a time without feeling uncomfortable.
- bony knees make it nearly impossible to be a comfortable side-sleeper (without added padding from a pillow or blanket, etc.)
- sliding through small spaces really is possible now
- movement is fun, not a chore
- the store PROBABLY DOES have your size!
- pantyhose/tights are actually comfortable!
- thongs actually work, and you really CAN forget they're there! (I always thought those women who claimed that were lying)
- bras don't have to have enormous straps, and can come in pretty patterns IN YOUR SIZE!
- foot pain has almost completely gone away
What else, LWs???
I did have a bony butt ouch episode the other day... just a hard chair...

I am not too old to wear sweater dresses with tights and boots!
People treat me differently-better. And it's not just my imagination. My family has noticed.
Being skinny is a big confidence boost. I'm sticking my neck out there and getting involved in local politics. I've just been appointed as Jury Commissioner for my county (actually the last one since we just voted in a Home Rule Charter).
Shopping is NOT a chore. Funny story. I went to Macy's to find a top for my mom who is well endowed, so I was in the Women's Department. I asked a sales girl for help in finding something and she said, "Oh honey, your're in the wrong department. These clothes won't fit you!"
No matter what problems I have, my weight is NOT one of them!!!!!!
Tailbones protrude...
bony knees and sleeping - yep - I have/had that issue.
much more energy now!
And yes - sliding through small spaces - its fun and amazing!
people DO treat me better. Its kinda sad, but nice...
I rarely put on something I don't like the way I look in it - isn't that fun and amazing?

--Direct quote from hubby, "you have no butt ". My comeback, . Followed by, .
--You can wear long johns and still have room to pull up your pants and tuck in your shirt.
--You can actually share a revolving door slot with another person...just don't trip on each others feet.
--If you go sky diving or deep sea diving, be prepared to have extra weights attached to you so you will go down instead of up.

I never worry about sliding through small places. I just go!
Just when I thought I could eat anything--my pouch said otherwise. A few bites of prime rib had me hurling in the bathroom last night at a Christmas party. Never underestimate the power of the "tool"!!
---People do treat me differently; better. But, my attitude has changed and I am happier.
---Losing weight means I am colder. I wear more layers and have increased the thermostat in my house.
---Went shopping at Macy's last week and the sales associate kept remarking how "tiny" I was and thought I was a smaller size, than what I really am.
----Skinny jeans and a long sweater top looked good. Who is that person in the mirror??
---Met with a personal trainer and she said I was "tiny." My PCP (who suggested WLS to me) called me "tiny." I don't feel tiny.
---My back pain has just about disappeared.
---Started a pilates class and it is much easier to move now.
----Where did my butt go? I have no butt.
---Looked down at my ankle one day and wondered what the bump was; it was my ankle bone!!!
I'm not at goal yet, but the NSV's keep on coming.
