So both my wife and I had JP drains for part of our aftercare......but a friend of mine did not have drains....her surgeon does not use them.....most around here seem to require them as part of their program....so I am just kinda curious....did you have drains or not?

thanks~

I had a drain but my group doesn't use drains for sleeves or bands.

Lap RNY in upstate NY, and no drain! Not aware if I had a catheter, but prolly did, and leak test was done while I was "under anesthesia".

I went home with a drain. Returned for office visit for removal one week after surgery. Didn't bother me much, except for preferring sleeping on side or stomach. My surgeon says it is safer if leaks occur.
