Scale 4 oz, or volume 4 oz?
That's what I've done. I have pyrex in 4 oz, and glad containers in 2 oz and it's real easy for me. But last night when I was getting my patty melt and broccolli ready, it was like, crap, not sure how much is here. It was on a plate and you are so right, the containers definately feel like there is more. Thanks.
As for the soapy taste - have you had anything with fresh cilantro?
For some people (including myself), fresh cilantro tastes like soap. It has something to do with body chemistry. Everyone in my family loves fresh cilantro and thinks I am crazy. Research has shown the soap taste to be real for alot of people.
Oh and I am still at 3 ozs food and I go by volume. My pouch doesn't care how much the food weighs but how much will fit in it.
so glad my surgeon doesn't have one of those extended liquid plans and had me on food when I left the hospital.

Myt nut says measure, not weigh. She says you stomach doesn't have a scale, it has a volume. So we eat 1/4c protein, 1/4 c veggies or fruit. I put my ground beef in a 1/4 c measure and then make my patty with it. With other stuff, chicken, roast, whatever, I guesstimate. 1/4 c is suppose to be about 2 oz my weight so sometimes if I am trying to figure out how much and I have a weight, I see about how much one ounce is and have 2x that much.

I weigh meats and use measuring cups for most everything else. I found these teeny weeny little paper plates at the grocery store, can't be more than 5 inches across. I put one on my scale, zero out the scale, weigh out my meat, and toss the paper plate - works great! I can't get more than a couple ounces of dense meat, but I do manage 4 oz of cottage cheese or egg salad or greek yogurt.
