Small scare last night
Had a small scare yesterday evening. Took one bite too many and vomited for the first time since getting over the nausea in the hospital. I new this was really quite normal, the small amount of blood in the vomit not so much. Called my surgeon, he advised me to go to the emergency room. So I went and they gave me a GI ****tail (super nasty). The nurses kept telling me to shoot it and didn't seem to understand that I couldn't "just shoot it". The doctor believes it was just esophageal irritation but I needed to come back if the nausea returned. So it was quite the evening needless to say. I'm just relieved it wasn't anything more serious. I still plan to call my surgeon back here soon to be sure. Hope everyone has a great day.
WOW..that would be scarey. I've never had blood in mine so I'd be really scared too!
Do you take Prilosec or something similar? Alot of us still take it. It seems to help getting things down easier and keeping the tummy from having "hunger" feelings. It's possible it would help with any irratation you might have. I started taking it again when I couldn't get my liquids down and it really helped.

I'm glad it was just irritation - that's exactly what I said when I hung up the phone with you last night - that I hoped it was just irritation... and nothing serious.
Thanks for updating us. Sorry I wasn't there to answer when you called... You did the right thing in calling your surgeon and making sure everything was ok. That is a very scarey thing to go through, especially so early post-op.
