Yeah guys...I know I spelled it wrong! Thought you might like a little laugh, even if it is at my expense

Last night we went out to eat and I ordered shrimp. The waiter said, "You mean shrimp?" I said, "Yeah...that's what I said SHRIMP!" He then told me that I pronounced it wrong!  So then I kindly said..."Really, well...can you pronounce N-O  T-I-P?" You should have seen his face! When he left my hubby was about to roll. I asked him what?? He said, "Well baby, you do pronounce it Srimp!" So I said it again several times and I do pronounce it without the "h".
I'm so HICK!

I have to admit that I've never ever ever heard anyone pronounce it that way!  (Well, except in that movie...)

This is really a true story?  If so...that's awesome!

Hi Toni!  I hear that, about getting things wrong.  I'm a complete Archie Bunker when it comes to fumbling around trying to remember the right word for something.  I usually come up with words that are similar, but totally different.  My classic example was when an auto mechanic told me my car needed a new axlerod.  Well I could only remember it as requiring a new Rod spring.  it has become a running joke with my kids!  They always make fun of me. I just say, "yep... that was a GOOD one!  I like that word even better than the real one!"  hee hee

ASH-
I hate it when I see that people have read a post of mine, but don't reply.  Makes me feel so stupid.  But don't read anything into it.  I figure when these women DO decide to respond, they REALLY respond with helpful, often lengthy answers.  When I most need it too.  So, what can you do.... By the way.... I don't care HOW you pronounced the word.  I think it's obnoxious for the waiter (or anyone cept family maybe) to correct your speech!  Who did he think he was?  NO TIP.
