Good Morning. Waiting for the plumber...

Well, here I sit waiting for the plumber to get here. No flood or anything just maintenance. But, here I sit.

Crazy day at work today. They will be judging the Christmas decorations in the cubes and having a carby potluck and gift exchange at lunchtime. I'm not participating...I could, just not in the mood. [sigh] I'd much rather come home and get online and talk to you guys. lol

I love that description - "carby potluck" - so typical!

Yesterday, we had our monthly staff party (it's called the Emma Muldanke Hour, after the first pastor's wife). They've started throwing cheese parties instead of carby parties after they noticed I wouldn't eat the junk. Now, I can just have a couple of bites of delicious cheese (I'm NEVER EVER EVER GIVING UP FULL FAT CHEESE, Ava!)

and everyone's happy. I am a cheese lover, though I only eat about 3 bites.

Oh, I know! I was hoping to come down this weekend, but it's not in the cards. It'll have to be after Christmas. I think I'll come after Christmas Sunday, some time in the week between Christmas and New Year's. Will you be around then?

DD#1 got sick at school yesterday, and just like me is totally fine this morning. I still kept her home because I figured the school would think I was nuts if I sent her. Then DH had to pull over and get sick on his way to work, so he turned around and came home. DD#2 is the last one that has not had this weird 12 hour flu bug going around my house. I HATE having a sick husband, men are such babies when they are sick, plus they still think they need to eat, just because the clock says it's time.

I'm kind of glad I don't have to deal with holiday potlucks this year. I already have 4 family Christmases to go to (ahhh, the joys of divorced parents and in-laws). And I'm sure each one will be filled with crappy, fatty, carby food.

I can relate, Gina. I'm sittin' here waitin for the HVAC guy to get here. Woke up to a little water in my basement from a broken humidifier in the furnace. Now I know why I keep nearly electrocuting everything and everybody from the static in the house. Poor Christmas tree probably won't last through xmas.

Regarding your down in the dumps mood.....I was trying to think of something to bring you out of it. I got nothin'. I've been wondering how I'm gonna cope with all the crappy food this Christmas too. Everything about Christmas triggers thoughts of some yummy, special, once-a-year-only thing to eat!

We had our office Christmas breakfast last Friday. I was off and asked them to have it on a day I would not be here.

Short day at work today. Hooray. I get to leave in another hour!!

Hey Gina, I wish I could have gotten on today and talked with you earlier! How did the plumber go? My school is having our Christmas Luncheon next Wednesday and GOD is good because that is the day he had in mind for my Pre-op visits! YAY for that...because teachers are the worlds worst at sweets and treats and good things that are SO BAD for you!

I don't know what it is with us. It's like we have the recipies with the highest fat and calorie content you can find. Maybe it's the stress!

BEFORE, I lived for FOOD...NOW, I live for LIFE!
